In case you didn't know, Starships was one of the HUGEST songs of the year; her urban track BEEZ was very successful on urban and Pound The Alarm is rising as well. Nobody "hates" Nicki. They hated Stupid Hoe and her Grammy performance. Her pop songs smash and her urban songs do well in that market.

I guess you could use her album sales as proof, but when you take into account PFRR is actually selling fine weekly and that we are in a year where the biggest opening week was a mere whack ass 400k, then even that argument collapses.

American Idol is dead. The Mariah hire showed promise...but I don't agree with Nicki or the rest of the rumored judges. I LOVE Nicki, but she is better suited for something like X-Factor. American Idol isn't gonna have no rappers...how is she going to judge a SINGING competition?

She's also a singer. They'll probably play off of that side more. And I think Idol is having a format change anyway, with singer-rappers allowed.

I don't know whether to like this or not. On the one hand we have a nice competition of Mariah/Nicki vs Christina vs Britney and people get to see the real Nicki, but that's also what could turn people off her.

Simon and Randy don't sing AT ALL. Jennifer Lopez is no vocal mastermind; Paula Abdul was primarily a dancer and choreographer - why do people care now if Nicki sings well or not?

It doesn't take rocket science to know when somebody is singing like a dying raccoon. Going off of what Kingsley said, Randy and Simon don't record music but they know how to judge. It shouldn't be that hard for Nicki, who actually does do some singing, to critique others.

I wouldn't be here for Nicki doing this cause it makes her look desperate when she doesn't need to be. She should be focusing on getting PF:RR to platinum, and passing 2 million WW instead of judging on a show. But it's her life, I guess.

No. People don't like Nikki. Yes, she has a nice size fanbase, but the general public think she's a laughable joke.
