US Success. Considering the fact that the US is the biggest music market in the world and most of a labels' revenue comes from album sales and ticket sales from the US.
Once you go global, there's no way you can be completely forgotten or flop, there's always some market you can rely on. On the other hand people in US tend to dismiss an artist completely, ask the likes of Ashanti, Ciara and etc.
It depends on who you are. Some stans claim their artist is global for having a few gold and platinum albums in a few countries and if this is the criteria for being global then I'd take an artist who can sell 3-4 million in the U.S. over that anyday. However if its like the success of the elite WW sellers then I'd take that over just strong U.S. sales.
