Wow..its amazing what passes at comedy today. Even if you are going to joke about rape..he was wrong to single out a specific person in the audience. At least keep it general.
How dare you blame this woman for being upset by rape?
You're excusing Tosh's behavior when you say **** like that, and you're essentially saying the same thing as "if a woman wears something revealing, it's her fault that she's raped"
So if I say I got raped during a test today because it was extremely difficult, I'm disgusting? Some people have a different sense humor than others, especially when they have different cultures and backgrounds. It doesn't mean rape is funny, they're just jokes...

But nothing Tosh did was wrong. He said one joke, which was commenting on how even the darkest subjects, humans can find humor in them (Louis CK makes a living off of the same thing). That this woman couldn't comprehend this to be a joke, that she actually felt as though Tosh was wrong, the audience was wrong, for making light of an awful situation through humor is beyond me. I don't know how she could take anything he says seriously, especially when he's trying to entertain.
As for the issue of him calling her out after she interrupted his act, perhaps he went a little too far and could have backed off, but at the same time she provoked him. That's what happens to people when they heckle a comedian. Don't go to a show if that fact offends you.

but based on the information we have, that's not what Tosh was doing
he straight up said, "wouldn't it be funny if that woman were raped?" there's not even a joke in there - how is that using humor to "make light of an awful situation"? what did we learn about the human experience?
What was Tosh supposed to do? He's a comedian. People go see him to laugh. The woman heckles him, what is he gonna do? Apologize, say "you're right, let's move on" and change the subject? Fat chance. He's gonna make a joking retort (if she began to be raped, I guarantee he would not have laughed) and keep going.

I agree with this. He would never do something like that that because he's too stupid and too disgusting.

It says in his tweet, "Out of context misquotes aside,"
