I dont think Katy Perry possess the "it" factor that Gaga has which makes Gaga much more appealing to the masses. Gaga is incredibly huge, both locally and worldwide. KP isn't as huge worldwide as Gaga and doesn't have the stan base to get those sales.

Honestly, Britney would not be able to do it and I don't think a lip-syncing X Factor performance would help. She just came out an era that under-performed horribly, so there would be no hype or interest.

I'm just confused as to what Britney not being at her peak has to do with anything. It was just pretty random considering HIAM sold 400K in its first week and that was released well after her peak but whatever.

It's a rolling chart over a span of 24 hours. Gaga's competition was not nearly as popular as WAY was, so she had an easier time than Bieber did.

I honestly think she has a chance but probably not.

I think she could with certain factors (like i previously mentioned with a video premiere and X Factor performance), but the hype Gaga had with BTW was just out of this world.
