I was sure WHYB would hit Top 10 this week because of Idol. **** you On-Demand Songs.

It kinda dominates the Hot 100...

Feel so bad because songs like WHYB and Scream still haven't been on on-demand chart...

I'm thinking if it's be like this:
Example:
Sales 200k
Airplay:50m
On-demand:500k

And the points:200+50+50*1.5=325

Just look at Boyfriend and Home.

The points difference without counting on-demand points ==> 81 points
But Boyfriend has only 695k on-demand points.

So I' thinking there's a formula between od points and the real hot 100 point.

Someone know this?

Sales count less than airplay in the new formula. I remember an ATRL member was able to back-calculate the math and said formula is approximately:

Sales *0.40 + Airplay *0.55 + Streaming *0.05 = Total points

Phillip = 278 sales *0.4 = 111.2 points
Bieber = 144 sales*0.4 + 53 airplay *0.55 + 690 streaming *0.05 = 57.6+29.15+34.5 = 121.2 points

This formula seems to work every time that I plug in numbers.

On Demand is not ******! Billboard has to count streaming points that led to its creation The Hot 100 formula determines and IMO, actually shows that certain songs will be much more deserving on their respective positions ^

I think personally the majority of the top 10 for this week at least I hardly use. On my playlist, I usually force myself to hold the songs in the billboard top 10 on my playlist, 5 out of 10 of these sit at the bottom.

I mean seriously, who the heck listens to WAY after the Glee episode???

I'm glad they incorporated on demand streaming to lessen chart manipulations like 99c and 69c discounts, remixes, countless versions of the song, and payola that plagued the charts last year.

It's only a matter of time before they can find ways to rig the on demand streaming though.

The On-Demand chart is great! It really varies up the Hot 100 musically, and it's more representative of what is popular.

The only downside is that it makes the chart even slower.

It hurts dance-pop songs a lot though. Like Part Of Me went #1 on downloads, but couldn't even get top 15 in the On-Demand chart, and Dance Again has been top 10 on iTunes a couple of times, but only got to like #49 on the On-Demand chart, and Turn Up the Music got streamed about the same amount as a Nicki Minaj promo single. But I think this is good, most of those songs suck, they all sound the same, and they're dominating the chart, so it's good that they're now being handicapped a little bit.

Most people on here are just complaining because they want their latest favourite Timbaland-rip-off song to be higher. If the On-Demand chart boosted songs liike Scream and Where Have You Been, there'd probably be much less complaining on ATRL lol.
