Gaga is just a huge seller, and I think the sales would have been front loaded even without the .99 cent sale just because of the hype.

Yea I agree, it still would have been front loaded. Just a little less.

Stop with this hype BS. People didn't buy an album that has nothing to do with The Fame Monster and The Fame because of The Fame and The Fame Monster.
|
You Stop. Of course people buy albums based on the previous eras, Gaga was HUGE sold more than 10 million with The Fame + Monster, of course people wanted her new album even if it wasn't as good as expected. And the price helped too. She sold 50% of her albums on her first week, BTW era was weak in terms of longevity, TD debuted at 190k but managed to sell more than 10 times that number.

In that case Rihanna would have gotten a number 1 album from Loud to TTT. It has SOME to do with it but not everything. And it's not the same for everyone.

That's not the argument though. The argument is about the ALBUM, not the singles that grew on you.

Which album is better? From a personal standpoint, it's all opinion. From a success standpoint, BTW has sold more, so it's better. We are talking about the album, not the singles. Katy's 6 singles =/= the album. If TD is better because of it's #1 singles, then it would have sold more, but it didn't.

The singles are ON THE ALBUM.

You guys act like because it took Katy two years to sell 5,000,000 of TD, she's done better. It doesn't matter what percentage you sold first week, what matters is the overall sale.
"TD had great longevity..." BUT YOU FAIL TO REALIZE IT STILL HASN'T OUTSOLD BTW EVEN WITH 6 #1 SINGLES AND A RE-RELEASE.

You don't even know what an opinion is, so stop.
So it's okay for Katy fans to use the hype defensive against Gaga, but Gaga fans can't use it against Katy? Hypocrite.

Rihanna doesnt have a #1 becauseof timing (black Friday )and no break.
Plus, Rihanna's closest era, in terms of success and impact, to TFM is GGGB. Which she screwed up the momentum by releasing a ballad.

|
Yes, pumpkin, I do know what an opinion is. I'm saying that the fact that Teenage Dream has sold less does not mean its an inferior album, it should be based on opinion instead. It means that of course TD sold less, Katy is a singles artist, people buy her singles, not her albums. Gaga is the opposite. So sales should not be considered when deciding which is better. Got it?

She may have screwed up momentum but she was still big. (and arguably still is) I guess it's just because all the albums are too close ![huh?](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/7be5c36a.gif)

You always have some sort of excuse. You go on about how TD has sold ten times the amount it did first week, but that's still not more than BTW, and that's quite sad seeing as Gaga is supposedly a has-been and is fading and only had one #1 hit from BTW.
The point of the matter is that BTW has sold more than TD, therefore from a commercial standpoint, BTW is better. The critics also agree.
TTT failed to push over 250k and Rihanna was coming off a huge era with LOUD. We'll see when Katy's next album fails to push over 250k. I'm sure you already have an excuse typed up and ready to go.

And I already told you. I don't think it's an inferior album. It is based on opinion this whole thread is opinion based. We are not talking about whether Katy is a singles or album artist, that is neither here nor there. Also as I told you before I was replying to someone else about the sales, mind your own business ![ahh](images/smilies/images/smilies/ahh.gif)
