Some of you are judging the album based on the generic Not Myself Tonight but that album has like 18 songs + 6 bonus tracks.

This thread is just an attempt at fishing compliments for Christina and "Bionic". It's just putting a creative spin so that she will win and so that Britney's work will look inferior.

I have listened to "Bionic" multiple times. I'm not going to praise disjointed and poorly executed work under the guise of it being "risky."

Well I must say that Britney did always something different, something extra. Her albums never sound like a regular pop album. But I don't really see why Blackout or In The Zone weren't safe. See if she did an album full of those rock-inspired songs like He About To Lose Me and stuff, then I would call it risky because that's not really her genre.

People tend to forget that Britney was going through a lot of criticism from the media before ITZ was released. She was being constantly portrayed as the 'cheater' in the Justin relationship and how she was the reason they broke up, etc. Then what did she do right after it? She released a sex-filled dance-pop/electropop/R&B album

To me, that's taking a risk.

As far as these "Britney made dubstep commercial" claims, I would beg to differ that it was actually the producers.
They are, after all, responsible for producing all of the tracks that hit the radio.

People speak of this dubstep movement like it shattered the face of Pop music.
The last time someone did that was when Britney Spears made her debut. I mean, why try and replace gold for ****?

Both albums were quite generic but Bionic was more experiemental although FF is a much better album.

That isn't risky because people supported Rihanna and would obviously support the song. Britney was being constantly bashed by the media and was pretty much being portrayed as a complete **** lol. Releasing an album right after that which has songs like "Breathe on Me" "Touch of My Hand" "Early Mornin'" etc could, and DID, harm her career and her public image. I'm not gonna have someone sit there and tell me that isn't a risk, but for some reason, BIONIC is.

In The Zone was obviously a risk, especially because it was released on a time dominated for R&B/Hip Hop music.

But I can't say the same about Femme Fatale.

Why are people bringing up ITZ and Blackout?

FF, Circus and OIDIA (to an extent) are the only Britney albums that don't take risks. It doesn't mean their worse though.

She was doing it since 2003. She didn't jump on the dance train because she's basically one of the first artists of the 2000s to work with dance music.

And Bionic, wasn't risky too. It also just jumped in the dance bandwagon with a few exceptions like some ballads. She even jumped on the Nicki Minaj bandwagon (but then Britney apparently jumped in too )

The album was bound to be produced by Britney but was scrapped. Britney talked to Diplo and other amazing producers as well. She basically thought of dubstep. She, her, Britney.

Shock Value, Loose and FutureSex/LoveSounds were dance music but they are more urban oriented than Pop. Blackout introduced a whole album of electro euro-pop type of music. And she even started it with a few tracks on In The Zone.

"Do It" tho was pure electro pop madness. I absolutely love that song. Too bad it flopped.
