Oh, another thread where Beyonce fans co-sign each other's "shade" for 50 pages to try to make themselves believe Rihanna hasn't already eclipsed her.
She will never eclipse her in respect so stay stuck in your itunes world cause for the same n only thing you can say that is for sales in that case black eyed pease would be on bob marley and prince level since they sold more records and have bigger singles

Her single has been one of this summer's most enduring anthems, a dancehall-pop mixture that owes plenty of its sweat and shimmy to Beyoncé's "Baby Boy." (In fact, the former Destiny's Child frontwoman's influence on modern R&B is quickly elevating her to the level of superstars like Janet and Mariah.)

But it makes sense. The ultimate reason Def Jam decided to change Rihanna was to make her stand out. So they gave her tattoos and haircuts with her new attitude for Good Girl Gone Bad.
of all the respectable pop girls I have always given Rih the least amount of credit subcontiously, and now that I think about it, she hasn't done anything very special to deserve a spot along Bey and Gaga and Britney etc... The credit i give her is for changing with the times to find the "katy" like niche in each music market, in other words, at least in my mind, she is and forever will be an amazing Katy chameleon
HOWEVER, I do think this thread is a bit over the top. Rihanna wasn't the first to do dance-pop since it "died" in the mainstream. Okay, yes, she was doing it in 2007. She certainly did it before Poker Face came out lol, that's for sure, but so did Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Usher, Katy Perry, Madonna, etc. in 2008.
Nelly Furtado, Keri Hilson, TImbaland, 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake got to it before Rihanna. You mentioned the Timbaland movement in the post, and how it was refreshing, but it was THAT movement that brought back synths, electro, dance, euro, etc.
This song (My Love by Justin Timberlake/T.I.) got to #1 in 2006:

"4" went number 1 and has sold millions worldwide, even though it's considered a "flop era", while Talk That Talk had a smash single (WFL) and Ri still wasnt able to get a number 1 album.
If anything Ivy Bey eclipsed Ri, not the other way around.
