Every artist has flops here and there, there is not a single popstar on this planet who is #1 for 10 weeks with one single then does the exact same thing with their next. Especially considering that YDO was released while WFL was #1 and growing in AI and sales. I simply don't see any other popstars selling in the same zone and getting #1 singles every era.
4 top 10 hits and over 4 million in WW album sales before anyone even knew what a Rihanna was, isn't that cute.
Mariah Carey did it with Fantasy and ONe Sweet Day basically
And both were #1 debuts
Where is the consistency in an artist who's album couldn't debut at #1 and struggles to meet platinum in the US despite having the biggest hit of her career (WFL)?
Not when Gaga went from selling 13 million with 1 album and then 6 million with the next.
TF didn't sell 13 million until The Fame Monster. You're forgetting that TFM had a package deal where you got both albums if you bought the deluxe edition.
Each of those three albums sold roughly 4-6 million. That's pretty consistent.
OP, I don't understand why you have to discredit [and even list] other women, in order to list Rihanna's accomplishment.
She continues to have platinum albums, and huge #1 singles from her albums.
She's very consistent in that regard...
but that doesn't make her more important than any of the other women listed.
They have all been equally/more successful than her in other fields.
6 million to 2.5 and TTT isn't even close to done, you can bet your damn life that it will end with 4 million in sales or more considering that this era is going to year's end and plenty more smashes are on the way. Not even to mention that TTT and Loud had nearly identical runs in their first 2 months of release.
As for Gaga, she has only missed the top 10 once. Domestically, Gaga has outsold Rihanna and is about to worldwide. What kind of consistency is that for someone who is about to release her 7th studio album
