Bey has amazing technique and has probably shown the most growth out of anyone vocally over the years. Her voice just gets better with time. But I think it has more to do with heavy vocal training than innate vocal ability unlike her contemporaries. She is still one of the best of her generation though.
That's an excuse, even from her early DC days, her melisma technique was always flawless, she polished herself overtime and her voice grew as she herself matured in age. Most people get worse with time, she gets better naturally with age, that is far more impressive imo.

I agree, and hate aside I just don't see or hear it, she's not even the best from American Idol in my honest non biased opinion. I know Ace stans for her, but cmon son, best vocals?
Well I mean for a vocal coach to get something out of you there has to be something already in you. It's not like a vocal coach is a magician who can just magically gift someone with Mariah vocals.
I agree but her growth from DC to now is really insane. Her training brought something out of her that she probably would've never tapped into without it. That's what I meant.

Kelly Rowland got training, where's her Beyoncé vocal?
i hate when ppl act so pretentious & act like Celine, Mariah, & Whitney were all singing in some magical octave & hitting notes that no other singer can hit.
& Kelly ****ing Clarkson? No ma'am. Not tonight.
Hunny, you might as well hate yourself then. You in here acting like Bey can do everything that Whitney, Mariah and Celine can do is a joke in and of itself. Bey is not recognized as being a vocal standard. The other 3 are....... don't let me post performances from all 3 that Miss Creole could never attempt in her dreams. I hate when young people do not know why certain singers are held in such high regard and think they can just throw their fave in the mix like its ok. No ma'am!!!!
Then you clearly need to take another listen sistren, that is one of the hardest notes Bey has sang in her entire career.
High notes are easy for sopranos, I don't know why people think higher = more impressive.
Actually, you're right. I gave it a few listens and I realised it's really, really hard. I've always underestimated Bey's Countdown vocals but they are really impressive.
Bey sings better than who live? Don't make Whitney slap you from her casket in Newark!!!
Kelly Clarkson would murder Bey live...... I mean lets not get me on youtube because sis we can GOOOO!!! Bey is a vocal BEAST!! She wouldn't be one of my faves if she wasn't. I know what Bey can do in the studio and live..... I also know that she prefers to lip sync more than anything. Kelly is always 100% live. She'll always be superior because of it.

lol yeah I get what you meant. It just always irked me how people used the "vocal training" excuse as a reason why Beyonce shouldn't be considered as a vocalist.
Kelly just doesn't get enough credit. Her range is insane. She belts effortlessly without having to go into her falsetto to get up there. She has control and versatility. Not to mention she was operatically and classically trained.
I think because she rarely shows off that people doubt her. Their loss I guess.

See, I was almost willing to deal with you until you tried to say Bey lipsynchs, not only is that an insult to her talent and ability, but it's also a flat out lie. She dances, Kelly does not, so unless Bey is singing an uptempo track she is singing 100% live, and even when she is dancing she uses a backing track and her backup singers and still SINGS LIVE.
And NO MAM, no video you can pull will EVER convince me that anyone can sing better than Beyonce Giselle Knowles live, I dont care who it is from any year, I just don't see it happening. We are talking about a woman who sings better live than in the studio, its the other way around for every other amazing vocalist except Patti Labelle who is also a flawless live vocalist.
I mean girl..... she was sick and tired here and STILL was 100% perfect.

Oh no. She's definitely a vocalist. I'd even put her above Kelly in some ways with how she works at it and forces herself to grow and use her voice in new ways. I love that about her.
Her vocals in I Care and Love On Top should be all you need, regardless if how you feel about the songs those vocals are the best on any album in this generation of music.
!!!!!!!!
I looooooove those songs and I'm not knocking Bey's voice or her vocal ability but I do know that she'll never hit those notes from I Care live and that she'll never be able to that modulation from LOT live. But yes, Bey is definitely in the Vocal Trinity from my generation and so is Kelly Clarkson. She's so underrated that its INSANE!!!
