You should. You can find at least one or two pressed comments in EVERY article. Sometimes I wonder, is it really old ladies who run that site? Oh I do read pop blogs, but not as much as I worship Pitchfork and other blogs that cover indie music
Yeah, at first I thought that it must be started by Madonna. And when I read about '80s music, it was all started by Bon Jovi.
I will.
And me too. Just glad everybody seeing the light and buying Taylor's albums.
I don't understand why the Swifties get sad when her singles don't do well. "Speak Now" sold about 5 million in the US.
The genre that I love, also the genre that started all of this mess that I hate. Will never get it, why such a great genre like Rock with the whole free-spirited-people, could be trapped with the corporate games.
I know, thats my main genre too, and its too saddening.
Oh and thanks for the awesome welcome - I am one of those people who likes what I like and I don't care what anyone thinks, and I listen to a wide variety of things. My fave band is Breaking Benjamin (rock) and I love me some Taylor too. I like to keep an open mind to anything that sounds good or anything that connects to me.

This upcoming 4th album will bring the good music era back from the graveyard. I don't know but I feel pretty confident about it.
Oh! I agree. Haven't they seen it yet? BB Top 200 is the most important one. As long as the album still sells, worry about nothing. I mean, Adele sold those albums only with 2 (3?) singles so far.
The quality will speak for itself, people will buy when it's good. Have no fear.
Who run the world? Adele -Taylor & the real artists.

The irony. Trumped by the cheesy, *****-popping, (& bland) Pop music. I miss seeing the time when Rock ruled the mainstream
So I'm not alone here? Oh, hard rock band I see? I enjoy some hard rock too, but I'm more into The Flaming Lips kind of music. and of course Taylor too. And don't judge me, I listen to Best Coast too.
Here, I found an article from 2008 (around Fearless release), written by Jon Caramanica (a credible rock critic) for NY Times. Taylor talked about the possibility of an alt. country record in the future, and here's her answer:
Quote:
“Later on there will definitely be a huge temptation for me to make an alt-country record, something edgier and a little darker,” Ms. Swift said. But for now she’ll stick with what she knows, or knew: “songs that can be some sort of consolation for what people my age go through.
With the release of Safe & Sound, do you think it's the time for it?

Of course. Taylor & Adele ruling the world.
I'm nervous for the next album though -- I feel like this one is her make it or break it album with her audience. She is growing up and how will her fans react to it? Especially her younger ones. How much will it sell? But either way -- I'm still excited.

People in my circle still love to joke about me listening to Adele by the way. But not with Taylor, cause they listen to her too. Ha. Hipsters are fun to hang with, but sucks at the same time.
Agreed. This will be that 'all or nothing' album. Can she show how much of life lessons she has learned? Can she escape the breakout teen act jinx? I believe she will lose some of her current audience, that's inevitable. But she will win many adult fans with this one, as long as it's good like the predecessors while showing the growth she has had. I believe she can, hearing from what Messina & Borchetta have said. I'm pretty confident, but very nervous too. (I need my kool-aid again).

I would think Hipsters would wet themselves with Adele. I mean, don't those kind of people love her?
But, yes. I agreed. It's going to be interesting to see what she puts on this album. Judging from her "Safe & Sound" and her interview. It's going to be a moving on and sad album. So I'm excited for it now.

I'm assuming she's over with Jake and John now.
Hipsters that I know think Adele is for old ladies, book club members, and enjoy pity-party.
This album, 1 song for Jake is kinda expected. Since John got 4 for a 6 month-long relationship (translated from: Taylor's Billboard intv - "I have a six month long period of time that was very dark that I want to forget if I can")
(My know-it-all ass is ruling my head when I type this btw)
I'm wondering if there will be more Joe/ John songs... Joe definitely had at least a few songs on his album about her, and John's new album allegedly has song(s) about her on it; she may respond in song, unless she's decided it's not worth it or she's matured past that.
@JakeKills, I think she will write about Jake and maybe Joe because he went to see her show twice. I don't think she's had contact with Mayer for awhile

I never knew that. I always thought their relationship was like a fling, or something.

Why Joe? She's over him now.
She could make fun of him and his hit album in one of her songs though.

I could understand the song "Dear John" more now.
And sadly she's not out of that sad place yet.
Only an emotional (& sexual, I may add) abusive relationship could inspire a very strong song like "Dear John". Watch this and you may have a more clear picture of the impact from relationship like that:
And yeah, the worst is she hasn't moved yet. And, Jake didn't help at all, he was with her right after she's done with Mayer (lucky him, his song may not gonna be as strong as John's songs). Parachute's songs that rumoured about her also helped to give a peek of the post-John effect on her ("White Dress" & "Kiss Me Slowly" if you're interested ). 2010 was definitely a crazy year for Taylor (not in a good way).
PS: Also heard that John was attending the Target convention that Taylor also attended back in August. Interesting.

Omg! That video is just sad.
And now that I listen it, its one of the most emotional songs on the album. I'm surprised her view on life isn't so jaded by now. But the good news is that she's moving on.
