Don't get me wrong tho, pop music can be artsy, *hands you Robyn's "Body Talk", Marina & the Diamonds's "Family Jewels" & The Sound of Arrow "Voyage"

What you call a mess I call a good cross between mainstream and indie. *Gets Robyn's Body Talk and listens to Time Machine* An attempt to have a mainstream pop hit but will fail to make the top 50. Try again. Your opinion is just that, an opinion.
What you fail to see is that with Born This Way Gaga has connected with a large diverse audience which correlates with the message of the album. The message is suppose to be taken by as many diverse people as possible. A universal message, i.e. Americano. As a Hispanic I love the song and is one of the greatest pop songs with a Latin influence I have ever heard. But, many who are not Hispanic don't like it. Again, personal opinion but that doesn't make it a mess.
So get off your high horse and take a seat behind the car next to Rebecca Black.
