256kbps is honestly the best for normal listeners. 320kbps can sometimes overstretch EQ settings.

I only use Apple Lossless though.

I don't know how they fare when compared to the other Beats headphones but they suited my needs very well. I use 320 kbps or .flac quality. I have some 256 kbps songs, but that's my limit. The only 128 kbps files that i tolerate are the ones that leaked or something like that, but if not, 320 kbps.

Even with cheap headphones, it's usually pretty easy to distinguish anything below 192 Kb/s.

With nicer headphones, you can usually hear every little difference in quality. Bitrate isn't a completely accurate judge of quality though. 320 Kb/s rips can suck. VBR rips are often great.

If you can't tell the difference, you should buy a quality set of headphones. There are sets that are much cheaper than Beats (generally around $100) that offer performance that is either similar to that of or greater than Studio Beats. The difference, moving from cheap in-ear headphones to higher quality ones, is astounding.

I tried to see the diff now. But still 128/256 sounded the same
