For the record, I grew up with with Aaliyah. I know there are youngsters in here that would say stuff he like "she was famous after her death" She was already famous before her death. She came out first, she paved the way for other R&B singers at the time. She is also an influential artist in my eyes. I also don't like when people compare her to Beyonce. They are two different artists. I think she would have worked with new producers and had a new sound in her music.

I did, too. I can't at these girls born in the mid-90s thinking that Aaliyah was never huge.
Skin is a fake Beyonce fan, so I don't even know why you girls are even entertaining him.
Aaliyah isn't here, so it's no telling what she would be doing. But it's obvious this child was trying to use Aaliyah to shade Beyonce and you fall for it. Typical.
Anyways, there's only two things that matter to me. 1. She left behind an amazing legacy of music. 2. I lost her albums a long time ago and I haven't gotten any other copies yet.

Artists get a nice sale-boost when the news starts floating around about their death. (See Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse.)
As I said, the album was gold before she died, and still selling before she died. The bump might have helped but it certainly wasn't the reason the album went platinum.
