im a monster but i dont think gaga will win this year. E.T or LFN will have the highest chance to win, and Katy deserves it. She worked so hard for TD's promo. i just hope gaga will have a duet with bey and they both win at least one award.

I sorta want the public vote taken away except for New Artist and Viewers Choice. Not like the VMAs ever had prestige but open voting on all categories is ridic cuz good videos will lose to popular videos.

And honestly, I haven't seen a lot this year worth nominating (my opinion) but expect Katy to win for E.T. no matter how much I think it's horrible.

It does suck, I wish they would remove fan voting, it isn't really fair. I think Katy deserves at least one award, specially for LFN(if it was even a contender) and/or Firework. I don't think Bey or Gaga have anything incredible this year, neither does Britney. I think all are fairly even across. BTW vs HIAM vs Firework vs RID(Adele) vs RTW.

It was clear last year who deserved awards, but this year is different. I think all girls are on an even playing field.

I'll be rooting for Gaga but I'll be happy for the other gurls

The eligibility period actually ended on Friday, June 24th, so that is 2 days after Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go" was released. As someone already mentioned, LFN is more than eligible for this year.

I'm sorry but I'm not delusional. If they want Gaga to show up (and we all know she bring the most of ratings) they will give awards to her. Same with Britney. They don't care which video is better.
I'm not hating or anything but it's the truth. Some Katy's videos deserve it more but I repeat,it's MTV. I'm 90% sure Katy will leave empty handed. And I don't really believe in those "fan voted" awards but if they're reliable then even worse.

I think if MTV has taken considerable time to promote your video, talk about it, and your song..then you have a pretty good chance to be nominated. I think MTV's interest in your video thus far, is a pretty good indication of who will be nominated.

And I know MTV cares about ratings and all that jazz, so that is why Britney, GaGa, Beyonce will all be nominated...basically to get them there. But that doesn't mean they won't give it to Katy, they have the other girls there already, it's not like Katy winning will affect their ratings when the headline grabbers are already there.

But I'm sure Rihanna will be locked out again, they always do her so badly.

Nope. Katy will win some awards, I am very confident this time. I feel like they will split all the major categories to the girls this time. There won't be anyone sweeping.

Best Female Video: Run The World, Beyonce, tying Madonna with three wins.
Best Pop Video: Born This Way, Lady Gaga
Best Dance Video: Britney Spears, Till The World Ends

I think Katy might go home empty-handed, not because she's undeserving. Girl has has an amazing era and she has had great videos to boot this year ("Firework", "E.T." and "T.G.I.F."), but MTV might be somewhat biased against her for some inexplicable reason.
