Hell no, these poptarts don't know anything about real music.

Sure, just cause it doesn't float your boat doesn't mean it's not good.

This is not an ATRL issue. You can't trust ANY site when it comes to music, not even Rolling Stone or Pitchfork, ****, even the Grammy's are full of ****. Basing your opinions or musical habits on reviews, other people's opinions, or awards is just WRONG and SAD. Especially because when it comes to music, as with the other ARTS, everything is subjective, even if sometimes we like to think otherwise.
So I answer you, you should take every opinion, especially on internet forums, as a joke.
That said, the real "problem" here is how close minded most members are when it comes to give new music genres a chance. I myself am like that sometimes, and I hate it. I stopped looking for new music (and by 'new music' I mean 'new artists') for a couple of months (ok, for like 4 months) and ended up listening to Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha and Rihanna, and that's when it hit me... If you don't wake up and move your ass fingers, you will end up being just a Billboard junkie. But hey, each one to their own.
The worst ones, BY FAR, are those who think they can say who is talented or who isn't which music is "trashy" or "superior". Music snobs truly are the cancer of music forums.

Who said I don't like Tina Turner? I don't listen to her, but I'm not gonna say she sucks. Far from it.
See, you're just proving me right here. Muse's albums all have higher critic scores than Beyonce's discography, so it's not a quality issue. Not saying Muse is better than Beyonce or that my taste is better than yours, but don't you think it's hypocritical to make a thread like this and then go and dismiss anything that's not sung by a female with a big voice?

Nope.
Rihanna, Katy, Britney, and Ke$ha have never produced any quality music, but they make fun and catchy songs...but it doesn't change the fact that I will never listen to any suggestions coming from any of their stans when it comes to quality music.
But yes, I like a lot of their songs but I won't go as far as saying they're of quality music....cause they're just not.

Can't Get You Out Of My Head
In Your Eyes

Do you REALLY think he'll get into Impossible Princess stuff?

You're wrong for that tbh, personally I'm only here for "Slow" on that list.

The One is one of her best songs.
And Aphrodite was my favorite at that moment (now i would switch it for 'Love At First Sight', 'Sensitized' or 'Like a Drug').

Chocolate - really anything from the Body Language album - is optimal for a primarily R&B fan.

I would hope he knows CGYOOMH.
If you're going to list that why couldn't you give GOMW.

Well she has done some good songs, notably Man Down, Umbrella, and Russian Roulette...but I wouldn't go as far as saying 'Quality Music'. But she definitely has an edge over the others...she's almost there, Man Down is her best song. IMHO.

You should listen to "Rated R", it sure isn't full of catchy fun songs.

Not really, but mostly, it can be trusted when there are leaks in mainstream music

This!
Majority of the non-mainstream music I've discovered comes from TV/movie soundtracks and some random videos on YouTube.

Was this thread influenced by negative reactions towards "4"?
Something I've noticed about people on these forums, in general, is that they can't handle the opinion of the other user. Music, much like food, appeals to an organ and in order to be attracted to that appeal one must have a taste for it. If you fail to comprehend that many people dislike the album, it doesn't mean that they don't know what music is. It just means they don't like that particular music.
Anyways, I digress. Can ATRL-ers be trusted?
Personally, I'd like to say no, but the truth is. Who can't be? When you go to the clothes store and ask the clerk which top looks better with blue panties I'm sure he's never worn panties before and he probably never read a fashion magazine in his life. But you're still gonna listen to him. Why? 'Cause he's involved, somewhat. And so are these kids/teens/pedos (jk).
So, yes, they can be trusted. They just need to open up their mind a bit more and learn more about the art. But art is art and will be judged as is.
