I mean, it’s really not hard to see it.
She is the lead singer of one of the greatest, most iconic, influential and beloved girl groups of all time, and certainly of their time. The band has inspired the top girl groups of today, as well as countless individual artists.
She then had a parallel career which quickly surpassed the success and admiration of her previous grouping. With that came more hits, more awards, more exposure, movies, business deals, etc.
She is the single most praised pop artist of her generation for her performing abilities. You can go back over ten years and see performances that slay with little more than a band, maybe dancers and herself. Conversely, from there you can fast-forward to today where she currently is giving standout, artistic, powerhouse performances.
Her last two albums have been two of the most critically acclaimed pop albums of all time. The release and concept of both have created a shift in thinking in the industry. Now all sorts of high ranking artists from Miley Cyrus to Drake to Frank Ocean have taken note and challenged the way that albums are released and how we think of an album as a whole piece of work.
Musically, her staccato Destiny’s Child singing style is ubiquitous in pop. It quickly set standards in the time of its debut, and as continued to influence pop singers’ singing style in the likes of J.Lo, Usher, Britney, Rihanna and more.
So you can say “sure” to all of this, but no other artist from her generation has this sort of balanced career.
