shura <3 what's it gonna be was my original fave from her album (the title track superseded it) but i still love how infectious it is
kiss it better & the sound are also really nice!
Cruel + Ain't My Fault Both are solid bops.
Thinking 'Bout You My favorite from DW and my new fave Ariana song of all time. A masterpiece.
Speaking of masterpieces... Starving I thought Hailee couldn't tug at my wig any harder, and then she swiped it clean off with this one.
I loved Starving from the first listen

Wha'ts It Gonna Be and I'm In Control are good but I think people have first single/lead single bias.
I love other tracks on Shura's album too, but i still think I'm In Control is the best on the album

10. All My Friends (feat. Tinashe & Chance The Rapper) - Snakehips
Here we go again, another club-ready anti-partying song. I hated Here, but i could put this song on repeat for days. The interplay between Snakehips' late-night vibe synth-filled production, Tinashe's flawless vocals, and Chance's smooth delivery is mesmerizing. Also, not only is the chorus very relatable, chanting along to "all my friends are wasted, and i hate this club, and i drink too much" fills me with absolute joy.
9. My Church - Maren Morris
This is my favorite country song of 2016, and i'm not even Christian. A roadtrip song about driving with windows down and the radio on is undeniably one of country music's biggest cliché, but Maren manages to pull off this one in an interesting way. My Church contains some genius lyrics and the dated-sounding production is actually fantastic. I wish Maren the best with her Grammy's nominations, and hope to see more incredible work from her.
8. I Feel It Coming (feat. Daft Punk) - The Weeknd
I Feel It Coming is officially my all-time favorite from The Weeknd, and it is certainly a million times better than the album's first single, also a Daft Punk collaboration. The Michael Jackson's influence is obvious, but The Weeknd added his own melancholy touch to the track. The melody of the pre-chorus is heavenly, which builds up to the repeating, yet delightful chorus.
7. Drive It Like You Stole It - Sing Street/Hudson Thames
Sing Street is an underrated masterpiece, and Drive It Like You Stole It is the smash hit that got away. Well, maybe not a smash hit in 2016, but it could have been a massive hit in the 80s. There is nothing particularly groundbreaking about this song, except for the fact that it is super fun. Whatever you are feeling, Drive It Like You Stole It is guaranteed to put you in a great mood.
6. Super Natural (feat. Carly Rae Jepsen) - Danny L Harle
The wordplay on "supernatural" is genius and this song is an out-of-this-world hybrid between PC music and pop. From the beginning to the end, Super Natural is intriguing. From the bold and exciting production to Carly's signature, perfectly-written love-struck lyrical content - his song is a perfect feel-good EDM-lite track.

I Feel It Coming Great album closer for Starboy
All My Friends One of the GP's worst decisions of 2016 was not letting this smash. Whew it's just so good.

Somebody Else is the album's standout right from my first listen, in fact, it is one of the very few songs that managed to make me cry. I don't even know that The 1975 is capable of making songs this real and raw. The synths are haunting, Matt's gentle and fragile vocals are stunning, and the lyrics are pure beauty. I can't put my love for this song into proper words, but it is definitely one of this year's most captivating songs.
4. Higher - Carly Rae Jepsen
Carly did it again! The fact that her album's leftovers and random collaborations are better than many pop girls' actual albums really speak for something. While all the tracks from the EP are stellar, Higher is my favorite. The positive energy of the song is infectious and the couplet "You take me higher than the rest / Oh everybody else is second best" is brilliantly catchy.
3. Hotter Than Hell - Dua Lipa
Dua is definitely slaying my list this year. Hotter Than Hell is the best tropical house/pop song out there right next to Sorry, it's a shame it didn't see JB's level of success. This song is a confidence booster for me, in that Dua's powerful voice fits right into that soaring chorus and electrifying production. Hotter Than Hell hits hard like a statement, the pop manifesto of 2016, the burning pop masterpiece.
2. Into You - Ariana Grande
I have always adored Ariana, but Into You turned me into a fan. The song is so much of a magnum opus that i will still buy the album even if the rest of the songs are garbage (which isn't the case here). Into You is sexy, sensual, confident, and anthemic. The chorus is flawless and the rough-sounding electropop production makes the song even more intense. The line "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body" is also already iconic. This will be the ultimate gay anthem for years to come.
1.Be The One - Dua Lipa
Where should i begin with my favorite song of 2016? Be The One is everything to me, i listen to it multiple times a day since i discovered it near the beginning of the year and it still sounds fresh. I love that the song sounds nothing like all the other pop songs on the radio, yet still sounds very modern. The glittering synths at the start of the song is hypnotic, it pulls you right in. And that chorus, so effortless, so luscious. There is a timeless quality to Be The One, the song also happens to be incredibly sophisticated and charmingly fluorescent. There is always that one song that defines my year; well, this is The One.

Higher Into You Both are amazing pop bops.
Meh, I've tried several times but I really can't get into Dua. She's just not my cup of tea, or at least not yet.
