We call it "sexual assault" actually, not "rude." But you do you.

Anyway I'm done here - internet conversations rarely end with the uninformed pondering upon the truth, reaching a realization that they're wrong and then accepting a new way of thinking.
If you've had a privileged wee life then cool, there's always exceptions, but "toxic masculinity" is speaking about a whole as why we pride men on qualities they are 'supposed to have' (based on ancient examples invented to belittle women) and really all it leads to is machismo (" a strong or exaggerated sense of manliness; an assumptive attitude that virility, courage, strength, and entitlement to dominate are attributes or concomitants of masculinity") which is quite simply - horrid.

Remember - "masculinity" is not white, or owned by Americans. Shocking I know.

Maybe not the majority of gays in the world, of course. There are a number of homophobic countries. In the United Kingdom, however, every gay I have ever known has always had a lot of support and acceptance on coming out.

You probably also think a man kissing a woman when she doesn't want to be kissed is rape, don't you? Well guess what, it's not for 99% of people, feminists just changed the definition of the word "rape", so that they can claim people get raped all the time and make a career out of their hobby or complaining and protesting.
You probably also think a white baby is automatically racist because they're white, don't you? Well guess what, it's not for 99% of people, it's just that some people changed the definition of the word "racist" so that they can claim that racism is everywhere all the time, and that there will always be 10s of millions of racist people in the US no matter what (when in reality the number of true racists is much less than that). Convenient, huh?

Open your eyes, people have been deceiving you. Seriously.

None of this happened to me but tea. Pressed gays should delete their accounts.

Girrrrrrl.. you had a point and then you just completely jumped out the window with this post...
Yes, kissing someone who doesn't want it is assault. What a terrible counterargument.

We're not debating that, it's a fact, the majority of world leaders, CEOs and city Mayors are male. Therefore the dominant attitudes of males are forced upon the entire society, so therefore when the archetypal "masculine male" is asserted as the dominant member of human society, all else falls and suffers in order to support and uphold it.
Therefore - you can be raised by the most feminist, fun-loving, hippy parents in the world but unless you're shut off from society and raised in isolation you will encounter people, like Trump supporters for example, who honestly think that a man sexually assaulting a woman is just "boys being boys" and something that men can't help. When really, this myth of what a boy exists and was formed solely to allow "masculine males" to do whatever they want, and as they see fit, to whomever they want.
If the high school alpha male is picking on the gay guy, you know damn well the majority of straight girls and guys will side with the alpha male so to garner their acceptance and deflect any criticism that might be directed towards them had it not been for the gay guy.
This is why toxic masculinity (a made-up term, but adequately describes the whole situation) is bad for everybody.

More women is power position is surely something that'd be great to see but people often use patriarchy as some omnipotent force that keeps women down in our society which I simply don't think is the case. There are many reasons why women and men choose different professions and why one gender is more present in some fields than the other and vice versa such as generally different interests and different balancing between work and family among other things.
Trump is obviously a prime example of an idiot who largely attracts equally idiotic people and I know the type of guys you talk about - those who have very primal and narrow ideas about masculinity and the physical dominance that comes with it - but there are more facets that need to be considered here which is my initial point. Not to mention that teenagers in high school haven't matured yet and need to be judged by different standards (which is however by no means meant to be an excuse for the behaviour). As I said the course itself can be very interesting and raise awareness but I am concerned it will neglect to highlight the postivie aspects of masculinity as well.

Well, these kind of women are the kind that are raised by the patriarchy, who tells them what a man should be like in order to keep society stable. And religion does play a part in that as well, by undermining women (the Original Sin in the Bible) and putting males up in a pedestal.
|
They have their own minds and only saying "it's the patriarchy" is not the answer.
What about the Regina George type girl? Is that "toxic femininity"?
All I am asking for is a less biased and multifaceted look these things.

Okay, but the phrase "be a man" encompasses a lot of things. If you're crying, "be a man!" because men don't cry that's for women. If you're scared, "be a man!" because having fear is for women. If you're into the arts, "be a man!" because that's for women as well.
I agree that the phrase "be a man!", especially when targeted at young boys, is not good.

It's funny that you mention religion and patriarchy in the same sentence!
The Patriarchy is just like God. There's no proof of it. It's just something that people "feel" is there. They "see" it in the events happening world around it, even though they don't physically see it, and they can't actually prove it exists to other people.
If something good happens a Christian will say it's down to God. If something bad happens, a feminist will say it's down to the Patriarchy.
Just like religious people, feminists and SJWs are putting lots of restrictions on how people express their sexuality. Feminists and SJWs are trying to implement so many rules into society.
Religions often have rules on what people can eat. Lots of SJWs say they want to make veganism compulsory (and that anybody who eats meat is evil).
Religions are often created to control society and keep people in order. SJWs and feminists also want to control society. It's literally all they talk about, you can't deny this.
Religious people and SJWs/feminists usually don't abandon their beliefs even when you present them with scientific proof of evolution, or ingrained biological differences between males and females.
SJWs/feminists and religions both believe that freedom should be restricted. They both believe there are certain things people shouldn't be allowed to do. Not just freedom of action, freedom of speech as well, in lots of religions there are certain words people aren't allowed to say.
You've converted to a religion without a God. Simple as. Please try and look at this rationally.
I was actually quite happy to see the downfall of Christianity in my lifetime. I was happy for a future where we would live based on facts, not tradition. But instead a bunch of supposed "atheists" have just invented a new religion that doesn't have a god and are trying to force the other 99% of us to follow it.
Here's an exercise for you. Find a hardcore Christian or mormon or muslim on the Internet, and try and convince them that their religion is not true. This is what it's like talking to SJWs. Maybe humans are destined to believe in superstitions after all... If you remove a religion from a society, they will invent another one to replace it. I don't know... But this SJW thing has to stop, it's horrible. We need a society with freedom and equality.

gays got bullied because of religion, not "toxic masculinity". Even women and girls who were "toxic femes" bullied and laughed at this gay boy in my school saying he is disgusting and will burn in hell. You can miss me with that SJW bs

In my school, it was a group of very nasty girls (not religious) who were the most horrid about homosexuality. Where are the complaints about this toxic femininity?

are you ****ing serious??? if im simply stating my opinion, who are you to tell me its wrong? i havent experienced the toxic masculinity yall are talking about and i stated multiply times that im just talking from my perspective. you cant force people to see things your way. i havent denounced anything you said. if you feel like masculinity is toxic then good for you but you walked in this thread denouncing the opinions of others because it doesnt fall in line with what you think. you reduced me to being in what you call a simple bubble for not thinking of masculinity the same way you do
and second of all you little bitch, im not white.
and even though i have lived in america, i dont currently and that has not affected my stance on masculinity. I dont need to remember masculinity is not white because i dont live in a country populated by white people. I live in a country where make up is worn by men, guys and guys and girls and girls can hold hands in the street because its socially accepted and nobody cares.
you need to chill
like ive said many times before; i just stated my opinion based on the experiences ive had and its stupid of you to denounce my words just because they dont aligned with your views

Why are you talking about feminists as if that title means anything more than someone who believes in equality between men and women? Do you not believe they should be treated equal? And why do you denote the term "SJW" as something negative? Do you think there's something wrong with advocating for social justice? Should everyone who supported marriage equality have just been quiet? Should Martin Luther King have just kept his mouth shut so as not to be a pain cause he was being a "SJW!!1".'
Don't get feminists and those interested in ending discrimination and injustice confused with radicals.
p.s. I was raised Catholic and was quite plainly able to see how the church frequently contradicts itself and was hypocritical about which parts of the Bible it would put at the forefront and which it would not - if that's not enough to steer you away then I would question a person's judgement and mind (which I do, frequently.)
p.p.s. Anyway, damn me for replying when I said I was done. Well, at least I can say I remained classy while others lost their temper. Welp!

Because no-one agrees with you that this is what feminism means. Less than 20% of people in the United States and less than 10% of people in the United Kingdom identify as a feminist, but in both countries over 80% believe that men and women should be equal.
Feminism has become a political movement with a belief system and ideology. I absolutely believe in the equality of the sexes, but I would never call myself a feminist, as they tend to align themselves with left-wing values that I cannot agree with.
