First of all, that's not true. Secondly, even if that were true, someone's A-list status doesn't suddenly change based on the performance of a single or even an era. Mariah hasn't had a huge era in over a decade, would you argue that she's not A-list or beneath Selena?

For the few Christina Aguilera fans saying "If Britney is considered A-List, then Gaga is too" Britney has been in the industry since 1998, Lady Gaga since 2009 only. She is a new artist, unlike Brit, and Britney who doesn't interest anybody nowadays is still able to sell as much as Lady Gaga. Their is a huge gap between them and B also sold WAY more than Gaga.

ARTPOP's first week sales outside the USA were double of Self Titled sales outside the USA

Gaga's huge flop in 2013 also made IFPI top 10 best selling albums of the year at number 10. even tho it only had 3 weeks of sales

Her name is still the most recognizable name out of ANY pop artist. That alone will keep her being an A list for the next 80 years
