The Beginning was a HUGE disappointment to me, it's sooo weak!
Never heard the other two.

The Black Eyed Peas rushed the release of the follow-up to their multi-platinum album 'The E.N.D.' and they are already paying the consequences for this.

The Black Eyed Peas rushed the release of the follow-up to their multi-platinum album 'The E.N.D.' and they are already paying the consequences for this. There were two major issues with this album for me, at least I felt this way after my first listen. One, it sounded like a collection of leftovers from 'The E.N.D.' and second off all they made a terrible mistake, they decided to feature Fergie, the most important part of this group, as least as possible. However, this record still has some brilliant moments that at the end outbalances this issues. First single, 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' samples and old classic and it works, it takes a few listens to get it, though. I wouldn't have minded more tracks like the mid-tempo 'Whenever', which showcases Fergie's flawless voice. Other great moments include 'Don't Stop The Party', with one of the sickest beats that I've ever heard or one of the most obvious choice to get the single treatment, 'The Best One Yet (The Boy)'. 'I Just Can't Get Enough' is another standout that proves why this band is still together, they complement each other so well. 'The Beginning' is another party album from the Peas, and while it doesn't come close to their prior effort, it's still delivers some great songs worth a listen.

Good to see BEP there, this album is really far of a comparison to The E.N.D.

Reeces' Best Of 2010: Top 30 Albums (24-21)
24. Cee-Lo Green, The Lady Killer
Standouts: 'It's OK', 'Bright Lights, Bigger City', 'Love Gun', '**** You', 'Old Fashioned'
It was just a matter of time before Cee Lo Green hit the mainstream world and started getting some recognition for his excellent solo material. '**** You', the feel good kiss-off track, as amazing as it is, stands as something completely different from the rest of the album, soul fans are sure to fall in love with this at first listen, not only that but his powerful voice shines in every single track. The impeccable instrumentals and top-notch production also contribute to making this an enjoyable listen from beginning to end. 'Bright Lights, Bigger City' starts off the record with a disco vibe that perfectly accompanies the lyrics about a crazy night out. The irresistible 'Love Gun' has a exciting retro sound that takes you back in time, and the metaphors in the lyrics are also clever here. Cee-Lo sounds his best in the heartfelt ballad 'Old Fashioned', and soon to be second single 'It's OK' is an example of his vocal talent as well. Other highlights include the catchy 'I Want You' and soulful 'Satisfied'. Lady Killers is a great listen from beginning to end, no fillers at all. I can't stress it enough, Cee-Lo's flawless vocal performance and the polished production combine together and make this a fantastic record.
23. JoJo, Can't Take That Away From Me
Standouts: 'My Time Is Money', 'In The Dark', 'When Does It Go Away?', 'Just A Dream', 'Boy Without A Heart'
'Can't Take That Away From Me' is just a collection of very different tracks, all of them sound completely different from one another. It's JoJo experimenting with different sounds and at the same time playing with her voice, and the result is outstanding. This mixtape comes as a result of a dispute with her former label, that unfortunately it's gonna keep us waiting for a proper record a little bit longer, but this definitely is a nice taste of what JoJo has in store next year. First and possibly only single, 'In The Dark', is simply mind-blowing, the beats, JoJo's take on the vocals, and of course the intense lyrics about a sexual based relationship, everything comes together to produce one of the best songs of the year. She claims to be a 'busy girl in a busy world' in the sassy 'My Time Is Money', while duet with up-and-coming talent Travis Garland, 'When Does It Go Away?' prove the powerhouse vocalist is still alive. The acoustic 'Just A Dream' shows a more vulnerable side while her voice shines once again in the heartfelt slow 'Boy Without A Heart', hitting notes she wasn't capable of in the past. JoJo not only nails the slow tracks, but bring the house down in the up-tempos, 'Pretty Please' is an easy example of this. Like I said before, this mixtape is just a taste of what's to come, we'll get the real deal next year, and if this is any indication of what's next, then I don't think we're ready.
22. B.O.B. Presents: The Adventures Of Bobby Ray
Standouts: 'Airplanes', 'The Kids', 'Nothin' On You', 'Magic', 'Bet I'
B.O.B. is one of the most exciting and fresh new talents in hip-hop music, and after hearing the first two singles, I had no doubts in mind his debut album was gonna be a great listen. This record is filled with many collaborations, and you got something for everybody, pop-punk vocalist Hayley Williams, new talents Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae, and hip-hop veterans Eminem and T.I., just to name a few, but don't get confused, B.O.B. remains the star and never loses the spotlight. The inspirational 'Airplanes' comes on top as the best track, pretty much creating a new sound for mainstream music, a combination of pop and hip-hop. 'Nothin' On You' follows the same formula, Bruno Mars gives life to the hook, while B.O.B. kills the verses. He takes turns to spit bars with T.I. in the catchy 'Bet I', on the other hand the interesting collaboration with Weezer's front man, 'Magic', provides a more fun and comical aspect to the album. B.O.B. gets assistance from the one and only Janelle Monae in the standout track, 'The Kids', they sound great together in the same song. Bobby Ray manages to show a more human side in 'Don't Let Me Fall', and the album comes to an end with the second part to the smash hit 'Airplanes', in a way unnecessary, but it's a nice addition to the album. B.O.B. is taking the industry by storm, scoring hit after hit, what's next is uncertain, but I'm already anticipating it.
21. Selena Gomez & The Scene, A Year Without Rain
Standouts: 'Rock God, 'Ghost Of You', 'A Year Without Rain', 'Round & Round', 'Live Like There's No Tomorrow'
I find it hilarious how last year I would refuse to even listen to a song by her, a year later, here she is and her band making my chart next year. Selena Gomez is an underrated artist, mostly because of her position as a Disney star, but she is way more than that, and all it takes is this album to prove it. The album is more mature, both lyrically and musically, she is definitely breaking stereotypes and trying to be a total different artist. Surprisingly, she handles the ballads like a pro, 'Ghost Of You', giving it the right amount of emotion making it one of strongest tracks in the album, while she also nails the uplifting 'Live Like There's No Tomorrow', also part of the soundtrack from one of her movies. First single, 'Round & Round', describes the story of a struggling relationship with a catchy hook, and 'A Year Without Rain' sounds so fresh and unique, it feels as if this song was made exclusively for her. But 'A Year Without Rain' is more than ballads and mid-tempos, she also works her magic on the edgy 'Rock God' and catchy 'Off The Chain'. I definitely have a new found respect for Selena Gomez and I truly underestimated her, she is one of the best, if not the best talent to come from the new generation of Disney musicians.
