I think Radiohead could win a la Beck since they have never won it yet (I think) and it's "due"

I am not a hater but I still can't understand what kind of impact did Lemonade have? The album's success wasn't that big, no hits being played on the radio to give an album consistency & relevency whereas Adele's album got the reviews and the sales so winning AOY shouldn't be a surprise.

Also this is just my thinking, but maybe Beck won in 2015 because Ed Sheeram/Sam Smith split votes and Beyoncé/Pharrell split votes, which allowed rock voters to unanimously vote for their rock nominee, Beck.
I don't see that happening this year, at least in the pop categories. Beyoncé/Frank may split votes, but I have a feeling pop will pretty much be on board with Adele. In 2012, there were four pop AOTY nominees, 21 included, but even then the votes didn't split. So, maybe 25 does have a chance...

There's literally no harm in accepting blue-eyed soul sells because of white privilege while traditional soul/R&B continues to decline in sales.... It takes nothing away from adeles achievement as a Brit to take the US by storm.

Macklemore was a one album wonder, Eminem deserves his success and is praised by most of the black community, Amy Winehouse never had much mainstream success in the US outside of one song, Emeli Sande is huge in the UK and has simply never been fortunate to break out in the US because she was never in the right place at the right time. A lot of black artist sabotage there own releases these days through tidal exclusives and supposedly "artistic" and "experimental" releases. Beyonce sabotaged own album by not releasing singles or promoting it. Her visual tactics only last a couple of weeks when it comes to big album sales. Besides, how many white artists these days are selling over 100k in a week: Adele, Ed, Taylor and maybe a few more tbh. Meanwhile, only a couple of black artists are selling over 100k in a week as well: Beyonce, Drake, F Ocean, Rihanna? Sounds pretty even to me.

If Bowie was still alive this recognition wouldn't have been a thing in the first place.

Even though Bad Blood and Shake it off lyrics are simple and the worse from 1989. Those lyric is still has personal details while being universal that every one can be related.
And while 1989 is clearly not Taylor`s best lyrics, it`s still the best in the pop world + the massive success made it`s a deserving AOTY winner.

You can simply just say "being snubbed" instead using race stuffs all the time, We also think Katy, Lana, or Ariana deserve a Grammy at least, and when they didnt win it, it's because they dont think their record is the best, because we all know music taste is subjective thing and Grammy wont force you to like their winner pick too.

Ray Charles won (with a duets album featuring mostly white artists) because he died.
Herbie Hancock won with a tribute album (also featuring duets with white artists) dedicated to a WHITE FEMALE artist.
As for Katy, Lana, and Ariana not winning any awards, keep in mind that they end up losing out to... other white artists that just so happen to be more respected than they are. In the case that they're even nominated, anyway.

According to you. For me 1989 was at least listenable, TPAB otoh Yeah it says it all, you shouldn't wait one and a half decade to release an album.

She is a Grammy winner and has a lot of nominations and gets to vote for Grammys, which makes her an "insider".

I have a feeling both "25" and "Lemon" will lose the AOTY award. I feel like they're both too obvious.
Neither deserve it, though. "25" was a downgrade from "21" and "Lemon" is only praised because it's Beyonce.

I've been saying that 25 and Lemonade will split enough to allow Blackstar to win since they've all been released. If all three of those are nominated and there's no Frank Ocean or Radiohead, then I suspect that Bowie will win and Bey and Adele will be awarded in other categories.
