but even know Raining Men is the urban single .. pop will pick and up and give it spins too just because its Rihanna .. thats ALOT of Rihanna on the radio ..

Yeah. What I'm afraid is the that Raining Men might pick up on Pop, and then a big station adds it, but they release S&M just when it was gaining steam.

Chile......S&M has already sold 60,000 singles in the US, top 100 in Germany, UK, AUS, Ireland, and top 10 in Norway. The OBVIOUS single choice. Raining Men is perfect for Urban. Even if it flops (which it won't). It's not a big deal.
Split sales. Split airplay. One will do better than the other, but neither will reach their full potential aka harder to reach #1 on the Hot 100.
Rihanna usually never gets Urban plays, unless they release a single for Urban or to crossover.
Disturbia was released just to Pop/Rhythmic and sold the most of her single 4 mill.
If S&M is just being released to those, then it can sell 4 mill also.

Def Jam can pull songs from radio if they feel like it's going to interfere. They released WMN over a month ago, and Only Girl still was gaining over 1200 spins a week and went #1. She's already demonstrated several times you can have multiple hits on the same format, so you're worried over absolutely nothing.
S&M doesn't even have a radio date yet. RM is going to be the new Urban single...just like WMN was. Now that OG is dropping, WMN will pick up on Pop therefore RM will essentially take WMN's spot as the Urban selection. Yes, they're moving quite fast, but I don't think they'll flop. I don't see RM crossing over anyway. Urban should eat it up even more than WMN since RM is way more catered to it than WMN is. Hopefully S&M will be sent to radio around late January...it'll definitely smash.
S&M is the most radio-friendly song left on the album so I'm not surprised. I wish it would have been Man Down as the urban single with Complicated/Cheers/CKB as the worldwide single.
