Do people realise that Syria is a country that literally is:
ISIS controlled in large parts (although they are struggling ATM)
Has the West carrying out frequent bombing missions
Has a dictator, Assad that has literally killed and used chemical weapons on his own people
Has rebels fighting against Assad forces
...and because of all that, there is a massive shortage of any aid or help.
Do people not see why someone would want to flee from that? Like, really? I've no doubt that there are "economic refugees" and those who aren't in that much danger attempting to get into Europe. But you can ensure that the ones coming are fleeing from Syria by setting up camps on the border and offering to take them from there. But really, an argument like "our culture might be damaged!"..
When you see pictures like that, it really does make them arguments insignificant. These people are human, and they deserve to be in a safe environment. I just *cannot* understand how people can not support getting people the safety they deserve.
Some of the comments here are disgusting and its a shame the right-wing media has warped people minds into believing that all Syrians are rapists and are going to rapidly demand the culture is changed. Its funny, because people said that about the Irish. Then the Indians. Then the Eastern Europeans. Now its the Syrians turn.
