It's these random acts of defensiveness that irks people about Rihanna stans.

There's really no average, it's different each year. In recent years this week hasn't be as impressive as it once was, but undoubtedly sales will spike higher than usual.

Woah, I didn't realize Keith Urban was still such a big seller. Nevertheless, if Rihanna can debut in the top 3 with 200k+, I will be very happy (and the prospects for this era will be looking good).

I find it funny how rihanna fans are practically begging for only 200K when some artists get over 200K so easily lolllll

Wayne has been very successful on billboard charts!!! Btw this is an album thread and I'm talking bout album sales so singles chart is irrelevant to this thread

She's on her 5th album and going strong, about to score her 4th #1 this year and her 9th overall, a big star with big promo and good reviews, and 200k is her ceiling? It's a bit surprising tbh.

No, but that comment was uncalled for from him, that's all. Her sales are at least stable, something others like Rascal Flatts apparently have difficulty doing (no shade to them, but their new album is opening with half of what Unstoppable did). I would only start to get worried with 150K or less for her.

The Flatts' album didn't have a very strong lead single compared to their last few albums. It's really low to compare them to Rihanna in a negative way when they've accomplished so much more than her. Trust that if they had a huge single with this promo, reviews, etc. they'd be opening with healthier numbers compared to Rihanna who does have all the right things, and can't push beyond 200k.
If Rascal had a huge single like "What Hurts The Most" or "Here Comes Goodbye", opening with healthier numbers, beating Rihanna, then it'd be a different story and we'd see "Country sells better".
And even with her first week sales remaining stable, her total album sales have been dropping as well. Loud isn't that great of an album, and as singles pour out of it the sales will show. (I only have faith "Cheers" could sell the album). Kelly Clarkson fans swore her sales would blow up when she went back generic-Pop, and All I Ever Wanted ended up matching those sales of My December.

^How can you say Rihanna's album sales have been dropping? Her album sales dropped with one single CD, otherwise they've been steadily increasing with every album. And the one album in which they dropped was with an unsuccessful lead single, a moderate hit and a huge hit, which was able to bring her to one million copies!

EDIT:
If it weren't for GGGB:R, GGGB would've had the same or less than AGLM. The point is her steady openings at this moment mean nothing, especially when she has the utilities to do bigger.

We can't compare Rihanna to Rascal because they are more successful?
Rihanna's first sales are fine.
I much rather her stay in the 180-190k range then her selling 400k+ to 150k or something.

Susan Boyle always comes at a 'good' time and makes others' album sales look mediocre......

Read again, sweetheart. I said In a negative way. You can compare them to her all you want, but bashing them in favor? Ridiculous.

this just means that 31% of sales has been reported meaning there is still 70%, which can be high or low numbers !! we dont knw yet!

Lmao, I seriously didn't calculate anything AND I AM aware of how the charts work. Those were just my predictions. You can now sit, with your crackly-laughed ass.
