A lot of people have been commenting RE the accuracy of this list.

First of all forbes are guessing. They're estimating net worth and the way they do it is look at several reports. For instance, a report some time ago suggested Madonna sold her share of maverick for 200m while another report suggested it sold for under 100m. Forbes just take what they can and put a rough estimate together. Sometimes the artists people work with forbes but that's a super rare occasion
