Meh,they definitely sound similar but " blatant rip off" is a bit extreme. Regardless she's entitled to her own opinion and now hopefully people can get the **** over the non controversy that this was if they haven't already forgotten about it.
She can always decline a question, like she always does.

You're both trying to turn this entire situation onto Madonna as if she's personally attacking Gaga, which is not the case. Madonna did not bring up the situation. She did not bring up Gaga herself. She was asked a question, and she answered it well.
EVERYONE has commented on how BTW and EY sound similar. She didn't bring it up herself int he first place. She was asked about it, she acknowledged it, then went on to talk about Gaga in a different light, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
What you-- and the OP-- are doing is exactly why we have issues between M stans and Monsters. Everyone keeps trying to turn this into a feud when there really isn't. Denying Madonna's influence on Gaga and looking for every little excuse to bash on Madonna in situations like this is only perpetuating an unnecessary argument.

Gaga has praised madonna in the past and has always cited her as an influence. She even thanks madonna for being an inspiration in The Fame's booklet.

but i will say that i really liked Madonna clearing out that there is no OTHER hard feelings apart for the BTW-Express Yourself drama. also she clearly acknowledged and complimented Gaga's talent so I'm glad.

She was asked about Gaga once, and answered it to the best of her ability, while praising her. I'm literally not seeing what's wrong here.
I don't think Born This Way and Express Yourself sound alike but Madonna's allowed her opinion, as is everyone else.
Madonna has been consistently respectful and praised Gaga throughout her career, both before and after the BTW/EY drama. It's just a shame one issue between the two has overshadowed the mutual respect they have for one another. We can only hope and assume at this point that Madonna's plan will be to set the record straight and show everyone that two women can coexist side by side and create an incredible moment for women in music. Let's hope Gaga accepts this time!
