Even then, Toxic is still Britney's biggest hit in terms of longevity. When was the last time you heard BOMT on the radio? Now how about Toxic? My station (Z100) plays Toxic and Bad Romance all the time. Their other songs not as much.
Actually since you mentioned that, it's the opposite for me. I haven't heard Toxic played at all since it was a hit...Whilst BOMT just recently started getting spins again over here. Bad Romance is the same, Poker Face is played occasionally, but never BR.
The Bad Romance video isn't as great as it's said to be, it was the song who made it great I believe.
I think almost everyone remembers Bad Romance if someone says "Ra-ra-ah-ah-ah-" and they will keep on doing it for years
This thread is full of Britney fan!
Of course, Toxic and Bad Romance is iconic
toxic- Diamond naked dress
BR- Storyline concept, and thriller similar dance
But is it really memorable? Would a person more readily recognize a woman in a diamond leotard or someone in a ****ty school girl uniform or a black leotard and roboglove? You're telling me, but how can you prove that it is memorable?
She was completely naked and covered in diamonds. The set was cleared while she was shooting those scenes.
It's just their fans tbh. Every few years fans of major pop girls do all they can to make one of their songs by their fave to be "iconic". Bad Romance is iconic for Lady Gaga fans, but not for the general public.
I can kind of understand Toxic being iconic, since it has a unique beat, but Bad Romance I don't think is iconic at all, the song is so generic, and the video is boring. Plus, If any Lady Gaga song is ever going to be seen as iconic in the real world, it'll be Poker Face.
!!!!!!! No random person on the street knows **** about her diamond suit or flight attendant outfit.
And Bad Romance I would say at least has the famous heels that Gaga is referenced for, nothing else though, it hasnt aged well.

The Sparkly Nude Catsuit!
When Britney Spears shimmied and shimmered her way across the floor in 2004's awesomely groundbreaking "Toxic" video in a sparkly nude catsuit, she created a sartorial phenomenon that's still alive and well in 2012.
Remember this OMG moment? Eight years ago when this video debuted, it was provocative, sexy, and downright daring to plaster your nude body in juuuuuust enough sparkles to cover your naughty bits.
It would be one thing if every pop star in the universe were clamoring to wear an ultra-flattering sheath dress in a perfect shade of glow-inducing turquoise--lack of originality can sometimes be forgiven when you look gorgeous!--but we're talking about a glorified Ice Capades costume that hides nothing, ladies. This look isn't doing anyone any favors, y'hear?
What do you gals think of the pop star phenomenon of wearing sparkly nude bodysuits Britney created? Discuss!

where's the ''iconic'' toxic http://kworb.net/itunes/britneyspears.html?
toxic is so overrated it wasn't a hit in 2004 and the GP don't remembers the song unlike the legendary and iconic Bad Romance
"Toxic" was released before the digital era (2003) and it managed to sell over 1.7 million digital downloads. It managed to outsell tracks that spent even up to 10 weeks at #1 on Hot 100 in 2003/2004 despite peaking at #9.
Toxic is iconic, probably one of the best known songs ever, within the first 2 seconds of it everyone already know it. BR isn't and never will be because it is forgotten.
Toxic was a very big hit when it was out. Even in the US. It didn't do well in the US charts, because the US charts were basically an airplay chart in 2004, so pure pop songs couldn't do very well, since they didn't cross over to other formats. It's not a big deal, everybody knows the song.
Bad Romance was following the chart trends at the time (electropop), whilst Toxic wasn't (urban). Toxic was definitely a more risky release, and stood out from everything else at the time, which is one reason why it's so remembered. Same with Hung Up.
Bad Romance is just forgettable, and in the future it'll be overshadowed by other songs from this era like I Gotta Feeling, Party Rock Anthem, etc.
Of course they are. Two iconic videos by two pop icons.
Is this gif real?
And to answer the question, Toxic no but BR yes. She had an iconic ( illumanti driven if ask me) video to match up witha great/amazing song. If BR came on right now I'd be jamming. Toxic well no. Just no.
