"Jewels N' Drugs" is one of the most shocking collaborations of the year. I've always enjoyed "urban Gaga", so "Jewels N' Drugs" was an instant favorite. I can't wait for her to release it as a single and dominate all of the pop and hip-hop charts.
Flatline by Mutya Keisha Siobhan
I discovered "Flatline" through its producer, Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange. I don't usually like girl groups, but this song is extremely catchy. I love the 80s vibe.
Bad by Tiara Thomas
Is it bad that I prefer Tiara's solo version of "Bad" over the Wale version and the remix with Rihanna? It's more personal and, in a way, heartbreaking. I'm really sad that Tiara isn't getting the exposure and success she deserves.
The Mother We Share by CHVRCHES
After getting into "Recover", I began to hear "The Mother We Share" on the radio and, like the former, skipped over it. I gave in one day and listened to the full song, and fell in love with it. "The Mother We Share" is easily CHVRCHES' best song.
Y.A.L.A. by M.I.A.
"Y.A.L.A." is the quintessential M.I.A. song. It has the sing-songy hook with deep lyrics hidden under her accent and fast rapping. I like that she's playing on a trend, but has her own twist on it. I had an instant love for "Y.A.L.A.", and it's one of my favorite Matangi tracks.
The Way by Friends
"The Way" is another song that I discovered through Dev Hynes. I had never heard of Friends before this song was released. I quickly got into the song and, as a result, Friends' album as well. "The Way" has a really chill, sad 80s vibe, similar to "Everything Is Embarrassing".
Mine (feat. Drake) by Beyoncé
I love Beyoncé and I love Drake, but I wasn't crazy about "Mine" at first. After listening to it a couple of times and watching the video, I fell in love with the song. The intro drags on a bit, but it's worth the wait for the chorus. I'm not going to lie, though, I cackle every time Drake says, "And I believe it's true".
The Monster (feat. Rihanna) by Eminem
As a stan, I always enjoy Rihanna's collaboration, especially her collaborations with Eminem. "The Monster" connected with me faster than "Love The Way You Lie". Eminem's verses are kind of annoying at times, but Rihanna makes up for it with the chorus.
Love In Stereo by Sky Ferreira
Had "Love In Stereo" been released in the mid-late 80s, it would have been #1 for several weeks. It has a really dark, but upbeat vibe and truly sounds like it was produced by Prince himself. It has become one of my favorite songs by Sky.
Ribs by Lorde
Every time I listen to "Ribs", my heart breaks a little. I can relate to it so much. I love the contrast between the first and second verses. It probably deserves to be much higher than this on my list, because it's in my top 10 most played of the year and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. It's one of Lorde's best songs.
Love that you have Jewels N Drugs, I feel everyone is so against it and I'm one of its lone fans because I've been waiting for Urbanga to shine for years.

And Ribs really is incredible. I revisited Pure Heroine to do my countdown and was even surprised by it again even after all the times I played it, it's still just great and endured my obsessive playing better than any other track.
