The OP said something like they released Whip My Hair to make Only Girl less successful. I don't think it's true at all.
Jay-Z wants her to appeal to the teen market. She's easily marketable to that crowd but she could get an adult fanbase as she gets older. The material needs to be good though. I know a lot of people here like 21st Century Girl but clearly the public did not at all. I thought it was terrible myself. Songs like Whip My Hair are catchy, charming & show off her personality (I'm saying this as a person who dislikes it - that is what the public thought of it).
I like her determination. She has talent & a lot of potential.
