I think they're making the point that she's currently outselling everyone, but they have no idea if she'll hold up at #1 throughout the week.

It can't have been that because they would have known she sold 30k more in one day than the #1 album sold in the whole of last week so #1 is guaranteed. It was just bad journalism; they simply left the word 'combined' out in error. Or maybe they were trying to make the 'race' for #1 seem interesting whereas we now know it's a foregone conclusion, lol.
