When I installed Windows 7 on a vista computer, it gave me to option to wipe everything and install, or to keep my files and install.
I kept them and it ended up taking HOURS.

It'll be in c:\windows.old

but it'll ask you during installation if you want to keep stuff/delete everything regardless.

i'd recommend you backup everything beforehand regardless

Yes. when you upgrade it will ask you TWICE to keep your files

I like the fact that they are all integrated, FB, Twitter, Mail. Its very easy to use. I spoke too soon when I said I dont like it but after a week I'm really happy with it.

I woke up bright and early on my day off just to upgrade. I'm downloading it as I type this.

Windows 8 design > Windows 7 = Windows XP > the ****** 90s editions > Windows Vista.

I love Windows 8 so much! I like that many of the features are hidden in the start panel now. It was worth the $15.

I kind of really like IE 10... Internet Explorer used to suck, but its really speedy in Metro, faster than Chrome (unsure if on desktop mode it's superior, jury is still out) but I like the back button being on the middle of the left side of the screen, my mouse is always hovering around there anyway. Deff a good set up for tablets. Although 90% of the time I still right click to find back button because I forget that's an option (this will make sense if you have w8). Just a tip for people - I don't know why, but if you install Chrome (it installs to desktop AND metro), if you try to open IE on Metro, it'll revert to desktop mode. IE must be your default browser to work on Metro. That is my first slight displeasure with Windows 8 but its super minor lol.

It took me an hour or so. 5 minutes to download, and then the rest of the time was spent with those "Almost done", "Just one more thing", etc messages that come up while you're installing. That's the only thing I hated about it. They should have just left the install screen as one, rather than splitting it up in several different sections to make it appear faster.

What kinda of SLAY?
It really isn't difficult to figure out (unless you're one of those people who take college courses just to figure out how to double click).
It's smooth, quick, and has a lot of cool new features and revamps.
The new Task Manager is really good, and the start bar isn't so needed after all.

I get the problem. If you have any other version of Windows 8 installed, you have to revert back to your original windows to download it. I have the Enterprise Evaluation, and that's why it didn't work.

Lol. I said the same thing. It actually moves a lot faster too.
Just can't bring myself to use it.
