You all are so harsh on these white girls just for having feelings. Like, am I going to have be the Alanis and Jewel defender? And where do a bunch of Taylor stans get off being so uppity?

I know, right? They'd better not even attempt to drag my girl Tori... If she even makes it to this rate

These telethon gorls just don't have...the juice, y'know?
Sheryl Crow. Devoted to music, from an early age. Proud Missourian, with a love for anything with a backbeat. Worked as a music teacher in the 80s, sang with bands on the weekends. She was introduced to a local producer, and began singing commercial jingles - making 40,000 grand from a McDonald's ad. Somehow this led her to being a backup singer to MJ on his Bad tour - research and see her old fro! Holy teasing, Batman!
Once off tour, she began providing background vocals in studio sessions, and somehow got a singing gig on the legendary flop Cop Rock. Through all of this, she was working on her debut album - which was scrapped! The songs she cut, though, were later recorded by the likes of Celine, Tina and Wynonna.
Sheryl started working with local LA musicians, and called her official debut album Tuesday Night Music Club. The first two singles went nowhere, but the third hit the motherlode. Enter All I Wanna Do.
Arriving perfectly in time with the mid-90s obsession with folky sounds, AIWD became one of '94's biggest hits - and propelled Sheryl into the limelight. In 1995, she picked up three Grammys, including Record of the Year and Best New Artist.
All this success didn't come without controversy, as the 'music club' she wrote with decided to clap back to the press, claiming they wrote a lot more of the album than was being spun out.
Which is so funny, because Leaving Las Vegas is a stone cold ripoff of The Steve Miller Band's The Joker, but that's none of my business. (SAME MELODY Y'ALL.)
Strong Enough, however, had stood the test of time - proved by both Beyoncé and HAIM/Lorde covering it in 2013.
Sheryl serving those Mary J. struggle vocals throughout. How was she hired as a background singer again?
Around this time, Sheryl broke up with longtime collaborator/boyfriend Kevin Gilbert, and started a thing with Eric Clapton. The demise of one or both of these relationships produced the best single Sheryl released in the 90s (or ever): My Favorite Mistake.
