But it's obvious why people would care about this considering recent events. And it's also obvious why that incident got the publicity that it did, being as for our country it is a domestic issue. Those internatiional issues should be given more publicity and I don't deny that at all, but I don't think its wrong for a nation to cover and care about issues in its own community.

I agree. These things happen to other countries, some even worse. In our country there were 58 people that was brutally murdered (some even raped, shoot and all of them got chopped and buried) by a governor and their team to remain on power, why didn't that become a global news?

It's because it's a lot harder to connect to an incident that happened so far away from where you live. It hits much closer to home if it happens in the same country as you. Obiously we feel bad when something horrible happens somewhere else we just don't feel as invested in it.

I agree. Lets also get rid of speed limits and making drunk driving illegal. People who are going to speed and drive drunk are going to do it anyways and then put others who are sober and going the speed limit at risk. They should have the opportunity to speed and drive drunk too.

heartbeats said gun reform, not gun banning. Criminals do already get everything illegally, but what's wrong with background checks for regular consumers? Oh the problem already is impossible to fix entirely, so let's just make it worse? Really? Oh, and btw, the "Big Brother Registry" arguments the NRA's pulling right now are a flat out LIE.

Taking their argument to it's absurdist conclusion of having guns for the "insurrection", don't you think the government "boogie man" would anticipate that before trying to take over your place? You think the whatever-rounds you have would ultimately prevail?

I'm not for "banning guns" but I am for everyone stopping pretending the NRA is pro-2nd amendment instead of pro gun manufacturer profits. Enough.

Gun banning is never going to happen because 75% of the american people cares way too much for their guns. But an extended background check wouldn't hurt anyone and it's something which 90% of the americans are in favor for that didn't pass which is pure ********.

if an extended background check saves 1-2 lives then what do we have to lose?

I get annoyed when the media latches onto topics such a gay suicides and/or shootings and makes it seems like there is a sudden increase which makes people start panicking.
