Because radio (every format not just Pop lol) lol lol lol is commercial.
Your "alternative" music on the RADIO is commercial music. Anyways, I'm not going to even bother.
Label can pay any format and Dj, radio stations gladly take it. Halsey has been getting pushed at Alternative and Triple A even tho her music is pure pop for example.

If you're going to brand Lana Del Rey "alternative", than shes among the most commercial alternative can get. West Coast can be played after Mumford & Sons and any number of the random ass commercial alt music that plagues alternative radio stations.
The reason she doesnt get played on radio is because she does not try. You have to force your way to get massive airplay. It has nothing to do with her not being commercial, which she
is commercially palatable. I think Honeymoon is her least thus far only because its really heavy on the slow burners. The only one with top 40 airplay potential is arguably High By the Beach and Art Deco. Everything else is a little too spatial for radio, even alt stations.
ANYWAY if any of my last posts in this thread are going to be responded to im not checking for em. ive got to finish the x files and fall asleep. I work early. goodnight lana stans.
