Saw some other sites offering planograms, saying the same thing; magazine buyers don't usually have time to browse and will want to find what's popular quickly.

If you're at a magazine store at the trainstation, chances are you will want to find your magazine quickly so you can catch your train. Stores make your life easier, so you can keep coming back. They're not gonna make you dig for something just cause it's popular. It won't stay popular for long that way.

Not necessarily, sometimes stores just will just throw stuff away to cut their losses to use the display space for stuff that sells quicker Either way your point about the bottom shelf being the most popular has kind of been disproved
