Pretty sure Justin Bieber was like the main pioneer of instagram and one of the reasons it even became a thing. The thought of Bey "copying" a name when the OMG Girlz gave it to her. And to "keep up" would mean you're adapting to "come close" to someone. Bey has damn near double the amount of followers as Rih on IG and was catching up SUPER FAST even before hers got deleted

Rihanna was the first female pop star to really use it, and was at once the most followed user.
Hazard, be quiet. She wasn't the only celebrity on instagram. and like I said, even if it didn't get deleted, Bey would have passed her... and she didn't even post as much.
and to think this thread stemmed from the one about "Why did Rihanna survive the Beyoncé whatever".... it is true. Rih had to change her image completely and step into a lane of her own. It's not as if that's shade or a bad thing, if you want to make a name for yourself, you won't do it playing 2nd fiddle. You have to stand out. She was branded the "next Beyoncé" upon debut (it was even a sticker on one of her CDs). She had Bey's choreographers/team, dancers, performance style, songs that sounded like they could be hers and her image.
meanwhile, the navy CANNOT pinpoint any part of Bey's post-2010 career where she has ANY of these things in common with Rihanna.
