Yeah I realized with all the new features, it was a mess trying to find everything stuffed under "My ATRL" and wherever else it all was. So I think this will make a lot more sense.
It's good to see a lot of people in support of the Groups. That feature seems to be taking off a lot more than I ever expected; I had to scramble to make it more visible. I had kinda written it off before we launched.
Same thing goes for the top navigation; that idea came after people were telling me the navigation was getting too complex. There's always something that we can't predict ahead of time. I typically spend the first week after a relaunch changing around the layout to adapt to these things.
As for the official threads in the music forum, I would encourage people to stop using them for general artist discussion and move toward more news-based threads... but I don't know if I can force anyone to do that.
I don't know why the Birthdays thread won't post. Any kind of automated posting thing has completely stopped functioning, and I have no idea what the new calls are for that kind of hack.
Finally, about the user name and Profile (edit) link in the nav -- I really can't believe that's enough of an issue that I would hear about it from multiple people. It's by design. The redesigned top nav is all about visibility of the most common destinations, and the profile is one of them. If that means the word "Profile" is up there and links to the same place as the user name link, so be it.
It's not really an issue, I think the ones who told you about it probably just thought it was an overlooked dupe because of the proximity between the two. At least that's what I thought at first.
How do we update our countdowns, as in updating for a new countdown rather than a new post because every time I update it, it's like a new post and then I have to update the title unlike before when we could make a new countdown post instead of a new reply.
I think it would make more sense if clicking on the title of the thread takes you to the first page and clicking on the >> arrow takes you to the last page. The "1,2,3" numbers are unnecessary. Just a thought. And I still think my idea on how official threads should be updated is a good alternative to the "thread update" feature.
It is the bot that tells adsense what kind of content is on your page, so as to determine what ads to show.
Slurp Spider No comment
o0o0o i see....
it was just really wierd to me....
I was like: WTH is a "slurp spider" doing on ATRL && in this thread?
and yes... No comment on the name
^ The same way you always did but just remember to maually change the title by either clicking on edit thread title or the space next to the title of your post.
In the groups section, the option of polls would be co0l. It would just be another way to make the groups more interactive than just being a members only kinda thing with pictures.
As has been said before the Update Thread feature was a feature that we made with incredible amounts of hacking and changes to code which caused vbulletin to be unstable, it took many hours to code that and was originally designed for the Blogs section since the Blogs dont exist anymore we didn't try to code this feature. I can suggest that you can either update your 1st post, or use your blog.
