Lyrics On Trial:
But every song's like gold teeth, grey goose, trippin' in the bathroom
Blood stains, ball gowns, trashin' the hotel room,
We don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our dreams.
But everybody's like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece.
Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash.
We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair
I have a love/hate relationship with this song, I used to hate it but have come to enjoy it and even bought it on iTunes but the pre-chorus in particular just rubs me the wrong way. First off what the hell is grey goose? Can anyone tell me? Besides me not understanding that or Cristal and Maybach the main thing that bugs me about this is that she insinuates she is better than those with money and isn't caught up in their materialistic love affair. While more often than not that seems to hold true for the rich we see in our own lives and media it still just irritates me at times. But I still enjoy the song regardless.
Lyrics On Trial:
I've overheard your theory "nostalgia's for geeks"
I guess sir, if you say so, some of us just like to read
One second I'm a Koons, then suddenly the Koons is me
Pop culture was in art, now art's in pop culture in me
I mean Gaga what the hell are you even trying to say here because I do not have the slightest clue. While Applause took a while to grow on me as well as Royals, at least I can comprehend what Royals is about. Applause is all over the place with hidden messages and such that I just can't understand. She was just trying to be witty and smart in her lyrics and it came off very odd and not understandable but whatever I'll still blast that chorus when it comes on
Avril how old are you? You are 29 years old! You should not be making songs like this anymore, you have been out of school for over 10 years now. I do not care for your nostalgia or whatever reason you made this song..it is horrid trash, all of it. Act your age woman
