Base doesn't need to be taken down, they just need to get rid of irrelevant threads there. ONLY artist threads should be there: one per artist or it's a retarded creation.

I think Base WAS needed, and it has indeed helped organize and reduce spam from each fanbase into the mainstream forums

But I agree there is some shady closing of threads lately, to give an example:

Everyone knows Madonna is two seconds from releasing a record, there was even an official press release and the Madonna Album Anticipation thread got close because, in words of the moderator: "it was pure speculation"

Meanwhile other fan bases (Im not mentioning any names) which have artists that havent even hinted on releasing something soon, have their album anticipation threads still open

You can click the categories to filter out the artist threads. But it now automatically sorts by thread title, while a lot of people probably want to see it by last replied. You could click the column to sort, but that gets annoying. I do agree it's a bit ugly and cluttered right now.

This weekend Music News will see some drastic changes. Most of the old album threads will be closed. We'll see how that works out.
