I love Avril's version so much. especially how she sings the dadadas .... so beautiful. Avril's version would be perfect if she changed the pitch in the last chorus, with the lyric "Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye",..... that part is what sold Kelly's version.

And for a demo, it's really amazing. I never thought this would EVER see the light of day, so I'm still in shock. I hope more of Avril's songs leak, some of her leaked unused songs are so much better than the album tracks.

A moment like this/ Before Your Love was Kelly's 1st top 10 which peaked at #1 and Miss Independent was her second one which peaked at #9. Breakaway was her 3rd .

I've always wanted to hear the full version, but now that I've heard it, I can tell why she gave it to Kelly. It totally wouldn't have fit anywhere on Let Go or Under My Skin. This would've been like one of her many scrapped b-side demos. I think one of her best non-album songs she's done is Falling Down in comparison to Breakaway.

Her label probably decided it was too similar to Mobile / My World in regards to theme. It could have potentially fit on TBDT but clearly Avril wasn't super attached to it and WYG was the big ballad of that era so who knows.

That said, she really should have included more songs like this and Daydream on her first two albums. It would have better prepared her fans for the emergence of her more feminine side in later years.
