Well you live in North Carolina. You're not likely to have a huge grasp of the world. And no, Shakira is not just popular in Latin America.

That actually didn't make any sense. Not everyone in North Carolina is a dumb hillbilly. I actually go to the 83rd smartest school in the United States and I have a 4.5 GPA. I didn't say she was only popular in Latin America. Maybe you should learn how to read before you insult someone else's "grasp on the world". Her main market is Latin America and most of her 'likes' come from Latin America, as a SHAKIRA STAN said in the earlier pages. I hope you read this so that you can realize how much of a dumb ass you are.

What kinda delusion though? The fact that most of her likes come from South America, doesn't mean anything. She still has more likes from Europe than Gaga, as Gaga has more from the US than Shakira has from South America.

Actually, what I posted made plenty of sense. No one expects a person in a part of the world that has little exposure to other areas of the world to be aware of what's known or popular elsewhere. It's not something you need to be defensive about. The fact that you're giving me a ranking of your unknown school and a snippet of your report card to prove how worldly and intelligent you are is just embarrassing. And like the other member said above, so what if her main market is Latin America? That doesn't change that she has significant popularity in many other parts of the world, which you were unaware of. How on earth can you become the third most liked artist on Facebook with just likes from just Latin America? Use some logic.

Regardless of your GPA, your thoughts are based on stereotypes and misinformation.
For example, Shakira's latest Spanish album is "Sale El Sol". Know where it was most successful? France..... where it went Diamond (500,000). To compare, Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" is 2x Platinum in France.
Her Spanish album peaked within the Top 10 in these non-Latin American countries:
Belgium (#1), Croatia (#1), France (#1), Italy (#1), Portugal (#1), Spain (#1), Switzerland (#1), Poland (#2), Austria (#3), Russia (#3), Hungary (#4), Slovenia (#4), Germany (#6), Czech Republic (#6), Holland (#10).
It peaked at #2 on the European Albums Chart.
If Shakira can top album charts in these non-Latin American countries, why is it so unfathomable for her to have people "Like" her in these same countries? Shakira is well liked throughout the world. Her FB "Likes" could easily be coming from Europe, which was actually more supportive of her last album than Latin America.

it's not a relevant number though. many of Riri's fans did not even know that HARD is not the title of her album.

You brought up Gaga... How predictable.
I never said it wasn't possible for people that don't speak Spanish to like her album. I said her MAIN MAIN market is Latin America. I also know that she has large support in Europe. I wasn't being stereotypical. I was just stating a fact that most of her support comes from Latin America and there's no problem with that.

And how do you know I don't get exposure to other areas of the world? The fact that you took your time to collect my information shows how desperate you are. You all are misunderstanding my comments. I KNOW Shakira is a global force. I never said her 'likes' were JUST from Latin America. As the person you pointed out said. MOST of her likes come from Latin America. You obviously need to reread all that I have said.

I only compared Lady Gaga to give you some perspective, because you really need it. I am telling you that her last album was more successful in Europe than even Latin America and you continue to regurgitate the same spiel.
It's like you are programmed to stereotype. Even when presented with evidence, you still say that she must be getting primary support from Latin America, as if that is the automatic, go-to answer.
How can you have a 4.5 and lack the ability to process simple information?

How am I being stereotypical by saying her main market is Latin America? You're acting like that's a bad thing. "I only compared Lady Gaga to give you some perspective." No, you compared her because she's my fave and you wanted me to get fired up. You tried

No, seriously, I just wanted to give you perspective.
More information for you to hopefully try to process. Stats from her last world tour:
# of shows:
43 in North America (23 in U.S.)
46 in Europe
14 in South America
1 in Africa
3 in Asia
107 Total
She had more tour dates in Europe. But I'm sure you will read this and still say "Latin America", like a robot.
It's very stereotypical to assume that if Shakira has 50+ million "Likes", they must come from Latin America. Statistics show they could very easily come from Europe, where she does as well, if not better.

That's funny because a Shakira fan that her main market is Latin America too.
I didn't say all 50+ million 'likes' came from Latin America. I said most. Do you not know what that word means?
