I'm getting there at least an hour or 2 early. Last time for Star Trek 2, I got there an hour early and the theater was already almost filled. I had to get a crappy corner seat in the front.
“Audiences could expect to see five to 10 DC movies in the next decade if (Man of Steel) reaches $300 million during its run and racks up a minimum of $750 million globally.”
Hm... 300 million for the US sounds like it'll happen. 450 overseas sound doable. Returns did less WW than domestically but I'm certain this is gonna be bigger.
Zack Synder's Man of Steel is currently on track for a potential $100 million debut at the U.S. box office.
Variety reports that early buzz on Warner Bros.' Superman pic has been strong, and the studio is giving it all they've got to promote and market the film. (Super Bacon Cheeseburger, anyone?) WB execs predict their superhero blockbuster will earn north of $300 million domestically. Word of mouth will hopefully strengthen those numbers, along with the review embargo lifting on June 10 at 8pm PT -- the same night as the film's world premiere in New York.
Although Man of Steel will have a long way to go if it hopes to catch up with Marvel's $1.2 billion earnings for Iron Man 3 (that's foreign and domestic grosses combined), box office observers are suggesting "long summer legs" for Warners and DC Comics' big blue boy scout.
Also they are lifting the embargo early meaning that the review are most likely positive. If the studio saw that the review were bad the embargo would not be lifted until the day before the release.
Like.... Ima need someone to hold me during this film.
My childhood hero is back on the big screen in full force, I don't think my body can handle this.
I didn't know this thread existed. So unbelievably excited for this movie! Got my tickets booked for the 14th. I think I'm gonna end up going to see it 3/4 times at the cinema
