That's very true. I don't think there were any iconic performances last night.
Beyonce killed it and did a superb job but she's done that time and time again.
To her fans, they might be iconic performances but time always tells whether or not a performance is iconic.
The fact that her fans are seriously calling it iconic right away is coming from their love and adoration of their fave and the reviews of critics (some of which are fans too).
To me, I was a stan her first two eras and I loved CIL and Ring the alarm performances...however, outside of me being into ATRL and stuff they are not memorable or are even cited as iconic.
A great performance doesn't mean iconic...I mean Miley's performance after a year can be said as an iconic performance...very few would say its a good performance though.
We shall see how last night stands in the test of time. To me it will be packaged with the whole vanguard thing but like many good performances won't really be remembered over the years...it's just another great performance from Beyonce.
i wonder if some think great and iconic are synonymous...maybe that's why iconic is used so often.

But who cares if it's remembered or not? Are we stanning for an artist because of petty statistics and who the GP likes/remembers best or because they legitimately are the best at their job?
"Beyonce killed it and did a superb job but she's done that time and time again." yup.
