This number is a lie to begin with as it had done more in US alone by May 18th, so I'm not sure why you bothered using it.

Do you people realize that this is a streaming album ONLY??? It's not meant to be sold at retailers. I'm not even a Kanye fan but you can't call an album a flop that hasn't had a traditional release. This album is a hit and doing very well.

Y'all, I don't even like Kanye that much (well, I've found more respect for him and his music recently), but there's no physical, no vinyl, not on iTunes, not on Spotify and only on Tidal and on his website and everyone's who bought's the album on Tidal has already bought it. I'm not surprised. I'd be laffin' if he was getting streams but it's a streaming album and look at that... he's getting streams.

Had the album been released traditionally, it would have done exceptionally well. Just like his previous albums, pre and post Taylor. Not to mention he's respected as a musician. Not everyone has that. Elsewhere, he's doing amazing with his other endeavors. He just signed a deal that's worth up to $1 BILLION dollars the other day. HIs brand will continue to grow stronger--

My fave has Diamond albums and has never had a studio album move under 500k album equivalents worldwide. Am I supposed to be jealous of his predicament?

No, you're misunderstanding my post. He wasn't expected to sell 400K, he would've done it with a traditional release. The number was made after the album's release, not before.

I'm not misunderstanding anything. He tried to revolutionize album releases and had a shot to do 400k first week U.S. with a traditional release yet the release strategy he went for ended up yielding under 400k equivalents total.

I wouldn't call that a success.
