Not really. It's considered mixed. It's slightly above the average but not really in "good" territory. That said Rolling Stone has about as much credibility as The Onion so
I'm interested in seeing how this does overall with the critics. I'm willing to bet this ends up in the mid-60s, not because it's actually an improvement over her previous material but because now that Katy's basically THE current face of pop critics won't want to seem "anti-pop" but at the same time they probably won't think it's too good.
(This is judging from my experience with critics, not based on my opinion of the album because I haven't listened to the whole album yet.)
