Not true at all. What defines who's bigger? Their sales? Mariah, check. Their impact? Mariah, check. Their influence? Mariah, check. Its not shade at all, just wrong information.  Mariah is the most covered artist on the X-Factor, The Voice, American Idol, etc... Her songs like Without You, Hero, All I want for Christmas are undeniably more memorable than any Britney songs. The reason why I say this is because they are still covered to this day and still played (last week I heard "Always be my baby" at CVS) etc. 
Don't worry about the shade part, no shade was thrown, just wrong info.

Hero, Without You, My All (I know in Egypt that they play if for weddings and that is a must), Fantasy, etc are known. Lets not pick and choose what we want to consider as facts jumbled up in our personal delusions now, ma'am or sir.

With that, songs like "Hero", "Without you", etc are used as a way to contrast others singing talent (such as on singing shows) making it a symbol or icon (representation) of what an outstanding performance is. Those songs set precedent, along with other iconic ballads of what a ballad should be like (hence why its been copied over and over since). None of the songs that you listed will ever be iconic. Britney is an icon, but not for her music or talent, rather for her "moments" in pop history and it applies to this because those songs aren't iconic, their videos or performances are.

Clearly you do need the lesson because you just ignored all the substantial evidence that I brought your way. None of Britney's music is iconic. The events, performances, and videos around some of it is. For instance the HMBOMT video is iconic the song isn't, the same applies for BOMT. Where you sleeping in class when I just provided you with the evidence that "Hero", "without you", etc are still performed on singing shows and such while no one but the Britney fans sing/talk about her songs?
