This year was the year I decided to expand my musical taste beyond mainstream pop music. This album was the perfect album to introduce to a whole new genre, even thought the music is pretty pop inspired in my opinion. Fall Out Boy’s album was one of the very first alternative albums I liked which encouraged me to delve deeper into the genre as much as I could. The collabs were pleasant and added something very special for the album and I’m more than glad to call myself a fan.

Bring the noise when we run upon dem! M.I.A. delivers on one of her best songs on the album and off her career. The album is pretty effin sick! The hip-hop/alternative dance breakdowns are just absolutely amazing. It’s one of those records are just blow you away and get better with each listen. Highly recommended. And if you are not a M.I.A. fan this album could turn you around because I wasn’t a fan but this album is her best work yet in my eyes. If only Interscope would’ve supported her a bit more it would’ve had a lot more success.
MY TRINITY:
Bring the Noize
Y.A.L.A.
Sexodus/Exodus (whatever I can't tell them apart)
Most of you may not know who Majical Cloudz are and it’s not your fault because they aren’t known at all! Thanks to a shoutout from the good sis Lorde, I was able to discover this majical album. It’s so incredibly honest, soft and almost ambient like. It’s a great minimalistic record if you are into that kind of music like I am. A very relatable record as well and I find it one of my favorite discoveries of the year. I recommend this album for anyone looking for something calm, honest, and diverse.

My glorious rock discovery of the year! Arctic Monkeys are a band that I never cared too much about. I had this in my computer for a while and never check it out but then I decided to check it out and boy was I wrong for putting it off! Undeniably one of the best albums of the year. I love how the whole album is such a great cohesive record and all the songs are short and has the right dose of rock in them. You wouldn’t feel like it’s too long or would you feel like it’s too short just the right amount. Definitely one of the best rock albums of the year.
