So you're saying versatility doesn't mean you have a good voice? A good voice means you can flawlessly pull off any genre or song, because you are just that talented. Comprehension
rofl so versatility's the qualification behind a voice being considered good or bad? sounds legit. go back in time, tell John Lennon he's **** because he only really stuck to rock/pop. Dusty Springfield too, complete junk.
Disappointed in some of my fellow Kelly stans in here
You cannot say Carrie is not a versatile singer unless you are misinformed. There's a reason she won American Idol. Because she, just like Kelly, has the ability to flawlessly sing multiple genres. Though there are definitely winners of Idol that cannot do so, Kelly & Carrie are the two that can and that's a big reason why they are so successful. Their voices cannot be matched by most in the industry. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I do feel that Kelly has a definite edge over Carrie overall, but that doesn't mean Carrie isn't an exceptional singer. I'd choose her over almost anyone else you would compare her to.
To say that Kelly >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> over Carrie or Carrie >>>>>>>>>>>>>> over Kelly are both just examples of pressed stans. Because no matter what your opinion is, you can't even argue that the other isn't versatile or a great vocalist.

the whole idea behind that logic is hilarious.
Dude, why so pressed? Versatility is but one of the many things we discussed. Why stick on to it?
1) Kelly's lower register is better than Carrie's. Watch Carrie's Blown Away performances, she can hardly sing the lower parts without falling flat.
2) Carrie's head voice is horrible. Again, watch the Blown Away performance on the CMAs.
3) Kelly's vibrato and control and superior too.
4) Carrie's belts are too strained, because she's doing them incorrectly. On Idol, she belting was the best it's been. Since then...
5) Carrie's tone is steely, Kelly's is earthy. Whichever you prefer is a matter of opinion.

Kelly is just better. Sorry.
ahaha it's the Kelly stans harping on about the versatility thing. Apparently it's the mecca of all vocalists. I provided examples to the contrary.
I strongly suggest you and the other Kelly stans take a leaf out of MJ's book. He's one of the stans I talked about earlier, one of the few with functioning neurons

John Lennon is more renowned as an overall musician, he is a great singer as well but a lot of that comes through his musicianship and songwriting. And I personally think Dusty Springfield was incredibly versatile...

I still stand by my opinion that Carrie isn't versatile, but just because I think that does not mean I don't think she is a good singer... I just think Kelly's versatility is one of the reasons that make her better.
You can't base it off the one performance when she's nailed it every other time.
Also stop making your opinion as it's a fact, when there are just as many people outside of ATRL who think Carrie is the better vocalist.
She falls flat at 1:06 and 2:55. Plus, her voice breaks a little at 2:26. And the CMAs performance wasn't the only bad one. She really struggled with the lower parts on the Idol performance as well.
That being said, some of the belts were ****ing flawless, and Kelly wouldn't have the solidness in her voice to pull those off as well.
Listen, I'm not saying Carrie can't sing. She's damn phenomenal, and I stanned so hard for her on Idol. She just isn't as technically consistent as Kelly.
And I'm not making my opinion seem like fact. I'm using facts to base my opinion on. Look at the things I claimed earlier (about how Kelly's lower and upper range are stronger, about her control etc.), and if you disagree on the points, then give your evidence.
Don't just say I'm making up facts. That's childish.

I love how you're just ranting on and completely ignoring what I said.
I said versatility was ONE of the things we discussed. Can't you read? And you provided evidence that Carrie is versatile, and we said she is but just not as much.
Who's lacking brain cells now...?
Plus, the fact that you ignored all my other points (that had NOTHING to do with versatility, but about how Kelly is a superior vocalist) PROVES that you know on a technical basis, Kelly is a better vocalist. Try disputing those points instead of going on like a child on a tantrum.
Also, why do all Carrie stans assume that we hate Carrie. I love her, she's awesome.

she's singing LIVE. Carrie and Kelly were pretty much the only ones not to lip-sync that night and don't try to tell me Kelly's performance was flawless at the Billboard awards, because it most certainly wasn't.

I didn't entirely read what you said to be honest. Most of your stuff is pretty tl;dr
