It looks good on her. I think that may have hit a nerve with some people because they're scared it will become a viral thing that white girls start doing, with black women not getting recognition for having it, idk or something like that.
I really have no say on the subject, I think she looks good with it but what do I know.

If this "you aren't allowed to do things outside your racial norms" movement doesn't stop, we might as well stop trying to get rid of racism entirely. As someone who is multi-racial, I'm sick and tired of race and culture being viewed as property.

1) They shouldn't do too much on the girl because she does look super young but...
2) If you don't understand why a white person doing box braids, dreads, etc, is an issue, you're beyond brainwashed and probably not as smart as you think you are.
3) The person in this thread going up and down about "There is not black/white/asian culture", I know for a fact that you select to erase your own culture (which is ironically a minority) and act like a completely difference race entirely (based on what you told me in our conversations). So I highly suggest you leave you leave the biases and ignorance out this thread because "white-washing" isn't cute. Embrace who you are, what your heritage is and what it means.

They look cute on her!
I swear black people do the most!! at this rate nobody can have dreads, box braids, nobody can twerk, rap, make hip hop, make reggae, or use terms associated with African american vernacular English. Y'all got this black power, black culture ******** shoved so far up y'all ass that you have resorted to attacking children. At least she called them box braids and not "black braids" or "black girl hair" etc
And she apologised so eloquently, she very mature for an 11 year old.

this is so dumb. a random young girl wearing braids is totally not worth getting angry over. this isn't even activism, it's just an annoying, overly aggressive waste of time

Wtf let the poor girl have braids.
This isn't appropriation in the slightest sometimes people just want to get mad at every little thing and she shouldn't have apologized. White people are allowed to have braids, hair styles aren't owned by anyone.
Its funny how all the white people in here ran to complain about sjw. Such a dumb phrase as if fighting for social justice is a bad thing. These twitter people are just immature and uneducated

lol ok if a person disagrees with you they're "beyond brainwashed", because your opinion is so superior and enlightened compared to everyone else's. you're literally exactly the type of person everyone in this thread is insulting

Oh please bitch..... cultural appropriation is, and will remain, a bull **** allegation made by people too stupid to come up with a real argument and just want a reason to hate other people.
The idea that culture is something that can be owned or stolen is a completely racist idea inherently.

TheLuckyOnes sis, you might want to edit that post. That is extremely insensitive of you to say. You should at least understand why people feel the way they do, especially with America's history. You should at least understand why people feel the way they do, its not that hard to understand (even tho my previous post seems a little ignorant).

It's not.
@ anyone trying to justify this.
There's no difference between a white person getting braids and a black person getting weave, unless they only got them to make fun of black people which this girl clearly isn't doing.

Its kind of like how back people were a little frustrated with how Miley got twerking in the dictionary or something, even though it was viral among the black community and black stars for a while.
I think the frustration is justified....so I can kind of understand why people are sensitive in situations like this.

When black females straighten their hair, are they appropriating other cultures as well?
I'm telling you, if a white person gets too tanned, she's appropriating black culture. Bookmark me
